i hope that faggot director did enough damage to kill bioware once for all

I still think Corinne Busch is likely to have been a symptom of Veilguard's failure and BioWare's likely demise rather than a real cause. Was it the troon who put an obscene emphasis on heckin' representation and other woke garbage in Veilguard? Of course, but let's not forget Patrick Weekes, who as mentioned was on the project much, much longer. The soft, weak-chinned vibe of the dialogue and characters goes way beyond a couple of designers, even high-ranked ones: that's a reflection of BioWare's priorities and ideas as a whole. More importantly, this game was in development for ten years. Ten years! That's twice as long as the entire life of the franchise from DAO to DAI. Put aside the fact that a new installment should have been out by 2019 at the latest, a decade-long development cycle -- not to mention the constant turnover in staff and the rumors concerning how many times the game was rebooted -- is as big a warning sign as you can imagine that a game is going to tank.

If the game hadn't been focused on sex weirdo obsessions, something else would have become the touchstone for how bad it is. Consider the moronic discussions on the wonders of coffee, just for starters.

Bioware Austin apparently, again per Wikipedia. Their resume is "continuing production" for Inquisition, the Star Wars MMORPG that apparently is still a thing though they've handed off the work to another company and a cancelled attempt at a new IP.
Bioware is not involved in SWTOR anymore. EA took it away from them and put it someplace safe. SWTOR prints money. Bioware had been using its earnings and it's staff budget to subsidize their failures. EA gave it to a contractor. Broadsword, a Legacy MMO management firm run by ex Mythic devs.

LOL

The salty as fuck Gaming Journos waited until one of their boys released the hot scoop -- The tranny at Bioware is... gasp... leaving Bioware! -- and then pretended it was his exclusive so they could ignore SmashJT and Grummz, who jointly broke the story.

No matter how pathetic and petty you think these people are, they're worse than that.

Looks confirmed then. The only people left are the newer writers, and Weekes and Epler it looks like.

Weekes is the top troon and Epler is the tard wrangler/PR guy-if they leave we can presume the studio's downfall is certain.

I wouldn't start celebrating yet, I bet we get Mass Effect 5 regardless if Bioware really does shut down. With there being a TV show coming out some point in the future it would only make sense that EA would want a game to come out along side it for the easy money.
A Mass Effect TV show is such a horridly disastrous idea.

Who would they cast as Shepherd, who will the LI be? You'll have legions of people complaining it doesn't represent "their" Shepherd and their choices are being effectively decanonized.

If its not an adaptation of the trilogy-then what's the market(and we know it will be because they couldn't do something like the First Contact War to save their lives).

Rumor has it that the Halo TV show was originally a Mass Effect series that was hastily retooled after they lost the rights which seems plausible considering how literally nothing in that show even vaguely resembled the games.

So it would probably look like that, aka shit.

I had the same thought, they very vaguely said something about it being femshep and that already got some people annoyed so just wait until they start actually start releasing more info. It's going to be a nightmare especially for the romance fans when the writers don't pair Shepard with their waifu.

UPDATE 4pm UK: Dragon Age game director Corinne Busche has now confirmed her departure from BioWare and EA in a statement to Eurogamer.

In it, Busche said she had left the studio for a new post elsewhere, after being offered an oppurtunity to build a fresh RPG she "couldn't turn down".

"At the heart of it, this was about my own fulfillment," Busche told Eurogamer. "I did what I set out to do at BioWare. That is to come in and help right the ship. I love Dragon Age, and BioWare, so the chance to return the game to a proper quality single player RPG was the privilege of a lifetime.

"It was hard fought, as games with such tumultuous dev cycles rarely end up shipping, and even more rarely turn out great. We, as a team, did it. And it was hard. It took a toll on me. BioWare still has a lot of work to do culturally, but I do believe they are on the right footing now.

Next patch adds Dragon Age 2 armour.
"As for me, my departure was voluntary, as I have been presented with an opportunity I couldn't turn down. I don’t want to say much more right now, but you can count on it being in the CRPG space and upholding the traditions of great characters."

ORIGINAL STORY 1.45pm UK: Corinne Busche, who served as game director of Dragon Age: The Veilguard since February 2022, is departing BioWare.

Whispers of her exit began circulating online last night, and were first confirmed by journalist Jeff Grubb. Eurogamer can also confirm Busche is leaving BioWare.

Eurogamer understands BioWare itself is otherwise unaffected by any other changes, contrary to rumour.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard -seven details you need to know.Watch on YouTube
Busche, working closely alongside creative director John Epler, helped oversee The Veilguard's final stretch of development from early 2022 onwards, until its final release last October.

The Veilguard slogged through a mammoth decade-long development and several reboots before the version we finally saw launch arrived, steered by Busche.

Critically, The Veilguard has been received well, and commercially sales have been decent - but there's also been a suggestion that sales have not exceeded expectations. Still, Eurogamer understands The Veilguard's commercial performance was not a direct factor in Busche's departure.

Alongside her work on The Veilguard, Busche has served as a designer and design director within publisher EA for 18 years, working on numerous entries in The Sims series, including The Sims 3, The Sims 4 and The Sims Mobile.

Post Dragon Age: The Veilguard, the bulk of BioWare is now turning its attention fully to the next Mass Effect game, which is being led by a separate small team of veterans.

Eurogamer spoke with both Busche and Epler in December for our big Dragon Age: The Veilguard post-release interview. "The reality was whatever we came out with, it was never going to match the Dragon Age 4 in people's minds and people's imaginations," Epler said.
Has anyone here seen this article yet. It has some interesting information about the Bioware Dev that left. Claims he didn't get fired.

So which company do we think he's apart off now?
