You did not censor his profile picture, and then proceeded to say "Oh btw he's lurking in the server you just linked teehee" They NEVER would have found his account if YOU didn't post shit about his account like a fucking retard. I wouldn't mind more of a consistent story as long as it's funny and absurd. I would hate for SU to have serious drama though, that would ruin a lot of its charm. He also could incorporate the slice of life stories into a bigger story by connecting them with character development. Maybe each slice of life scenario could develop the main character of the video some way for some greater plot.
His actual drawing skills have improved massively from the pony stuff. I think breaking out of his austisic loop of drawing sonic the same way a billion times forced him to start leaning again. Curious to see if his return to SU shows that off.
I'm not sure where he can take the story. A lot of the major plot threads have a definitive end (Knuxonia is a confirmed thing for example), and antagonist characters like Mandy can just unceremoniously die without any weight. Never mind a lot of things happening in these episodes that either contradict one another, or are a vessel for jokes and not any enduring story. That's not a bad thing, either. We've seen how weak these ongoing plots are, since when Tamers does the pony stuff he has no room to do most of the stuff people follow him for.
About this point, characters can also die and just randomly come back with no rhyme or reason like Sid and Gerald.
The Goodwill spanking scene definitely started a trend, but I wonder if he wanted to do things with Flora but decided he can't. Flora might be hard to write because her niche is being a uniquely level-headed and sane character. Outside of saying insensitive things sometimes, she's not like Aleena, Mindy or Sonia (who also get softballed compared to men), who will do things like pull a gun on somebody or be outwardly aggressive. Those are dish-it-out characters who can take it; Flora doesn't dish it out, so having her take it anyway might not have felt right. I don't think I'm being a Florafag and schizoing, either, since Izzy Moonbow and Nurse Redheart have a similar dynamic in the pony stuff.
I think the ponies are a sort of testing ground (testing underground?) for Sonic Underground. Not that Flora is the center of the Sonic universe, but Tamers might have realized some of the dynamics in SU can't be tampered with too much or you'll end up with a very different and possibly unpopular thing, like when he tried changing Knuckles' voice. Even Celestia, who is the closest thing to Bartleby in the pony stuff, has been showing some cracks and vulnerabilities that Bartleby doesn't have comparatively.
For me, the comedy is the best part. The serious plot threads and serialized arcs can help break things up to allow the jokes to breathe, but SU was special because it was an edgy YouTube comedy series that was legitimately funny and didn't shy away from saying faggot or even nigger occasionally, something really rare these day.
They don't say nigger, in fact Sonia caused a fight over dinner because she used that word. But I agree otherwise. The offensive stuff is kind of like a big filter that catches people who don't belong on the internet. Those people are free to enjoy every other safe-edgy streaming television show, or the Super Bowl, or any of the other countless programs that worship niggers. Tamers is (or was) solely for patricians who aren't filtered by humor aimed at sacred cows. The less of this the pony content has, the gayer its fandom will be.
The irony is funny in a sad way.
