Reminds me of when they were first talking about getting a CEO... Linus said he was getting tired of being the main one and being the face of the company and wanted to step back and retire/semi-retire. Many years later look where we still are... The new CEO was nothing more than a prop to shield criticism. Linus still owns everything and makes all the decisions. It's also not the first time where he "stepped back" only to retcon it shortly after.

the current CEO (Terren Tong) does have business experience (his linkedin does show he has quite a bit of experience) but honesty i bet Linus hired him as a two fold strategy. one, to get the heat off him during that quality drama a few months ago, and two, to handle the business side so Linus could go and spend more time being a man child.
he and his wife are 100% still in control, the current CEO is just a manager with a fancy title.
he's got experience tard wrangling Linus, but you can only wrangle for so long until the rope snaps. at some point the tard will go super sayian tard and do or say something monumentality stupid.
