Here is my take on what is happening. Especially given the Grimes tweet.
I forgot where I saved this from but when you look at what people do I've found it to be 100% accurate almost all the time (and I've since used it as a sort of tool to understand why I do the things that I do too):

IMHO Elon Musk is doing all this just because he's wants validation and wants to be liked and respected by someone out there who isn't either a SpaceX enthusiast, Tesla owner or yes-man dicksucker on Twitter. He wants to be seen as a "real" nerd and to be respected by nerds - it's a bit sad and says something about our world that an African American who is launching rockets every few days and has successfully launched a low earth orbit constellation of satellites for internet access (starlink) isn't respected by nerds (just look at that ThunderFoot faggot crying at SpaceX being successful: https://kiwifarms.st/threads/thunderf00t-phil-mason.28790/post-19596624)
He's going the wrong way about it for sure, but I understand his motivation and empathize with him at least a little. Besides the yes-men and dicksuckers there's a whole bunch of people who viscerally hate him and wish death upon him (not even in minecraft, they seriously want that shit to actually happen) and he's trying to get validation in his "happy place" from his childhood which was video games (which I'm sure for many people reading this would be the same "happy place")
- Elon Musk used to play games as a kid. It was his "happy place"
- He got pretty lucky by being part of PayPal super early on and made some pretty smart plays/bets (I don't buy the angle that his dad was the only reason for his success, he may have played some role financially though).
- Elon Musk is basically on top of the world right now - he's the richest man on earth, he's had multiple pretty attractive girlfriends like Amber Heard and Grimes, he has children, he owns Tesla, he's been doing SpaceX shit, he's done starlink. People may not want to admit it but the guy is at the cutting edge. Most of the people talking shit about him having achieved fuck all in their lives.
- He's adored by a lot of people in the tech industry but those niggas are busy with their own shit and don't have time to hang out with him, even though they like the fact he bought twitter and influenced the election outcome tremendously
- Besides his dickrider club on tweeter which almost anyone can tell is just a bunch of yes-men trying to suck his dick for money/clout he is almost universally maligned by people who refuse to give him almost any credit for what he has done and what he is doing. He probably knows people like Ian Miles Cheong are retarded but he doesn't have any better dickriders available.
- This level of dislike is wildly irrational. It's not the kind of hate that people like DSP or chrischan or MoistCritical or Asmonfag get where the odd threat/gayops happen - hundreds or even thousands of people make material death threats or wish death upon Elon Musk every single day. On top of this they criticize his every move.
- This does arguably come with the territory of being the richest man on earth but he is still human at the end of the day and that shit is not only gay but it can be overwhelming.
- So knowing that everyone hates him, he's been doing things to try and seek validation and video games are something from his childhood so he wants to be seen as cool in this area. I doubt he has the time to seriously play these games so he's padded his stats and done a little bit of bullshitting (and in the grand scheme of things that's really not the worst thing anyone has done)
