Not Just Bikes / r/fuckcars / Urbanists / New Urbanism / Car-Free / Anti-Car - People and grifters who hate personal transport, freedom, cars, roads, suburbs, and are obsessed with city planning and urban design

The thing I'm sort of highlighting is that you don't really notice this same type of comment for anything else besides trucks. You never hear someone say, "hey the phone you're buying is more than you need, you should buy a lower tier model". Or "hey the graphics card you're buying is more than the specifications of games you typically play". They visually look at a pickup truck and something inside of them gets offended.
Tbf at least from outside of America, Large Trucks/Dual Cab Utes tend to fall into the same category of asshole drivers as tail gating SUV's and German Cars, mainly because vain inferiority complex types gravitate to them, like indians gravitate to Shitbox Toyota's, and presumably like urbanists gravitate to being NEETs and faggots lol.

That being said it's easy enough to tell if one's a vanity garage princess owned by some cuck compensating, and one actually used for hauling stuff. Also fun af to troll pavement princess cucks with pictures of Station Wagons hauling more than they could when they try to defend never using it for anything more than groceries xD

I've also had some good laughs at Ikea watching people struggle trying to load their dual cabs, tiny hatchbacks, and in one case MX5 convertible, with less boxes than I threw in the Wagon in 5 mins xD

Food for thought: dunno how common it is in other places, but it was def common here that the white collar dads had the good large cars for commuting, and the mum and kids would have a shitty small second car for round the suburbs, whereas the blue collar dads would have their (often older)work cars full of tools, and the mum and kids would have the large 'nice car' for round the suburbs and larger trips, I wonder if it's just urbanists having daddy issues and associating large cars/trucks with daddy who they hated and small cars/no car with mummy who spoiled them lol.

When you're not towing the gas mileage on a lot of trucks isn't that offensive. It's actually the same as some older sedans. And they're likely to be similar to mini vans and other such cars. They're considered offensive because most people use trucks for towing so it's obvious in a way it isn't with other cars if you have one but don't tow often. The thing is, a truck will open up options even if you thought you didn't "need" one. Camping in the bed is better, being able to throw shit in the back is better, being able to decide to get a little camper, etc. It's ultimately the individuals choice what car they get and why. Modern trucks are very safe and cushy to drive. It's just the added critique of "hurr durr you're just a rural larper with a pavement princess shitting up the atmosphere" angle. But it's not even true that trucks are worse than other cars and as far as mileage concerns go the people actually using trucks to haul stuff are worse off because mileage takes a massive dip depending on what you're pulling.

I literally couldn't care less what type of car or why someone drives. Different people are drawn to different cars so there are stereotypes but still, who cares. All newer ish cars are expensive and the market is fucked if you're paying on anything atm you're paying too much, and that's someone else's choice again. Most people know they're overpaying but want the car they want anyway. If you have the budget for it, it's your business.

Some middle-class cuck car for groceries and other errands is still miles ahead compared to a cargo bike, which is what they usually suggest for families with children. That's the thing, though, it won't just stop at "you don't NEED a truck", it will eventually come down to "you don't NEED a car", and don't think for a moment that they won't penalize your cargo bike for taking up "too much space" in a bike rack. (Goes to show you rare cargo bikes actually are, I'm sure they'd seethe if one was parked in a bike rack).

As for sperging over trucks, I feel that the same people who would accuse truck owners as being "rural larpers" are the same people who would cry about judging one's appearance and their lives, including "invisible disabilities" or whatever the latest catchphrase is in the breadtube circles.

Like holy shit that is a low IQ take, fucking local govt enforcers cream their pants over easy tickets like that, hell I've seen them issue the ticket over a phone complaint without even seeing the car, and then withdrawing it when the person demanded a picture of the illegal parking as proof.(there was no way an Parking Inspector was in a residential street on a Sunday on a long weekend lol)

I really don't how this whole 'cops are evil and oppressive fascists over policing the smallest thing' like catching fare evaders, but when it comes to cars 'the cops never do anything but play candy crush' dissonance doesn't give them aneurisms.

Even Weeaboo NEETS have more understanding of the world and how it works than these pathetic losers lol

None of those posts point out that many of these places have Ring cameras or similar. A video of you taking a brick to a car is a good way to get arrested, and a photo on Reddit would serve as evidence.

One of the things I've done is look at users posting stuff and see where their other haunts are. It only goes back two months so this is likely a ban evasion/sockpuppet.

Massive faggot in more ways than one. (There are a lot of posts associated with that subreddit).

Unrelated tangent. I notice lately I see more comment sections with these anti truck people showing up. I don't know why these people feel like you need to justify to them as if you're asking for permission why you need to own a certain thing.

This is a mix of urbanists and car-poors tired of getting ROADMOGGED, and yes I am being mostly serious. There's also a smattering of obnoxious boomers that think if your vehicle has any sort of creature comfort and doesn't shatter your spine on bumps, you're 'soft'. Notice how you don't see these comments on supercar videos (do you NEED 700 horsepower to carry you and a passenger at 20mph to the Cars and Coffee event???)

I do hear sometimes that on /v/ but never on reality, like you used to hear about a $3000+ rig being used to play Flash games. Granted, Flash games weren't well built and anything more than simple stuff that a 56k modem could load would cause lower-end computers to run at full blast, but the sentiment was there and there's always some example to use.

Yeah this is pretty much my take on the whole thing. I don't really care what someone drives or how they live their lives. But at this point the people complaining about pickup trucks are more annoying than actual obnoxious pickup truck owners so I'm starting to side with them. Same with religious people and the atheism community.

it won't just stop at "you don't NEED a truck", it will eventually come down to "you don't NEED a car", and don't think for a moment that they won't penalize your cargo bike for taking up "too much space" in a bike rack.
Pretty much yeah, this is ultimately what it will lead to and then some. These are the same people who think living in a house in the suburbs makes you a chud so their opinions hold no weight for me.

Notice how you don't see these comments on supercar videos (do you NEED 700 horsepower to carry you and a passenger at 20mph to the Cars and Coffee event???)
There's always people on fuckcars who claim they're car guys but they think that since they drive recreationally that they aren't next on the chopping block. Or worse they have some sort of cope that some how urbanism will make driving better for them.

Why would anyone ever want a truck when they could do this instead?:
An unsecured washing machine right in front of you as you pedal wildly down a public street? What kind of brain disorder do you have that you look at this setup and your reaction is "mmm, yeah" without seeing anything wrong with that?

Did they tried just once what they push for? Sure taking your bike to go buy few stuffs at your local market is easy, but even with an eletrical bike if the weight exceeds the limit it will be hell to move. And I'm not counting the level variations on the roads.
I wonder how many of them are actually fat fucks addicted to Amazon and Uber foods.

@quaawaa:

This post and it's comments just sounds suspiciously like one of those FuckCar tankies trying to justify the antisemitic car vandalism (like, the burning of Jewish residents cars, spraypainting "free Palestine" on Jewish people's cars, etc...") that's currently running riot in Australia (& I'm sure it'll make it over to the US soon enough. 'cause nothing seems to get a tankie off the internet/their ass & into the real world more than an opportunity to openly hate on Jews).

So many of these people have a tourist, recreational mindset and refuse to own up to it. Whether or not getting around on foot in a particular city isn't necessarily dependent on how enjoyable it is but how possible it is. And it's possible, lots of people do it all the time. Even people from smaller towns, if they're within town limits, may walk if they have to do get to a job or the store. If you want an efficient city that has other priorities they're on top of then there will be lots of parts of it where wandering around isn't a day in the park. Hell, most of the time driving isn't enjoyable either. It's just what you do to get to A to B. It's better than walking or biking, for sure, but most people don't like having to drive around in cities either. It's just safer, more private, and you can take stuff around easier.
