I obviously haven't a clue about what's going on in Trump's head but when I've seen him with Elon, I always get a bit of a 'keep your friends close and your enemies closer' vibe from Trump.

I might be preaching to the choir, but Tencent owns at least some stake in almost every western video game publisher now. Them being forced out of the US would probably just entail them being forced to sell their holdings (which would devastate the companies they invested in as a lot of them are using fake Chinese money to stay afloat) but if, on a lark, any live services games that are partially owned by Tencent had to shut down I don't think there'd be any left.

For an example of this, Epic Games? Fortnite? That's 40% owned by Tencent. If they had to fire sale it it would wreck the company, if they had to shut down Fortnite temporarily the average IQ of zoomers would go up 10 points.

Honestly, and this may come off as silly, but I don't mind them going under. Maybe they can sell their decent IPs for pennies on the dollar and people with actual interest in making good games can pick them up.

The CCP doesn't use Tencent to buy into these companies as an investment, it's in order to have cultural sway. They live DEI goyslop bullshit as long as it's on our shores. Chinese money is a poison pill, there is no free enterprise.
