AI Art Seething General

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I don't know if this is the beat place to ask, but I don't know where else. I'm trying to generate some pajeets in Warhammer 40K power armor for a project I'm working on, and none of the free sites I'm using are doing any kind of a decent job. (This "project" is just a throwaway meme/thread, not like an actual project or anything, so don't get on any kind or AI art high horse (or go ahead, but know in advance that your protestations fall on uncaring ears)). Any advice?

I used to use Dall-E but it seems to have gone to shit. I only need like 4-5 pictures, but I'll be fucked if I can generate one decent one.

Have a go with the bing ai. It won't do anything politically fucky or nsfw and it'll block half the images for no discernible reason. But imo it's one of the best for sfw shit.
Here's the first result I got.

I tried to make my own version of that image with AI just to see if I could. And honestly now I look at the original more and more I just wonder what the fuck this person was on about. I mean have you ever seen AI art with that style before? Most AI stuff I see are no offense to the orignial artist a bit more polished than that. Literally every single model I've tried in the past year has given results that are at least in the style and quality of an actual anime. I mean most AI stuff has a pretty similar style that looks nothing like that image.
See what I mean. Just doesn't look anything like the image that is meant to be AI.

You're very right. AI art, well, I don't know what to call the style, tends to lean towards the more elaborately "painted" anime style or the anime style itself like in an animated show. Very rarely have I seen AI art in the style of the poor artist who got attacked.

I swear the attackers may also be artists so worried AI will steal their styles. Why? As I said, it's a generic anime/realistic style which focuses on pretty boys and girls mainly. The ones more likely to win this battle are those who have more stylized, art.

I don't think an art style can be "stolen" as copying is not physical theft. Though imitating a style may not always be a good idea, like with lying about who made up what.

However, if AI-made art doesn't use substantial unique portions in a non-transformative way, it's most likely not copyright infringement... yet it can still be competition.

I'd say it's possible to get AI to generate something like the original image, but you'd really have to put in a lot of effort to do so between experimenting with models and almost certainly training a very specific style LoRA to utilize for your generations. I'd think that even if you went to such efforts and training the end result might be a much more stylistically similar image to the original but will still trigger that gut feeling that pops up whenever someone with more than two braincells looks at something that's AI generated and immediately recognizes it as such.
Never forget the Sonichu style LoRAs.

Yeah, most base checkpoints are built off of animation studio-tier images. There's not much in the way of checkpoints trained in an artist's style unless said artist created thousands of images for training.

Video title is click bait and the video itself not very interesting, but the TLDW, is that the British courts are now trying to finally make a definitive decision, if copyright:

a) protects holders from their data being used for AI training
b) grants holders the right to opt-out, but opt-in is default
c) doesn't matter, because the training makes it transformative

This will also likely lead to some kind of a distinction, between what AI art can be copyrighted and what AI art can't, having to be determined afterwards.

It'll be interesting to see how it plays out but I mean I have no fucking faith in our courts at all. If they can't agree that illegal immigration is illegal then I don't trust their judgement on this either. It's an inherently transformative process that doesn't occupy the same niche as the original so surely our wonderful court system will say that it's fine right? I'm sure they totally won't do anything retarded.

I'm no lawboy but what keeps you from generating an AI image, slightly adjusting hue and contrast or drawing a line or whatever on it and then claiming that for all legal purposes, this is an image drawn by you, copyright you? If that image wasn't "owned by anyone" to begin with?

If you don't put in the bare minimum of effort, something AI generated is indistinguishable from something a person made. Who would ever even know? I feel just like with computers before, technology is creating facts before courts can catch up. It's already possible and easy to run current models on mid-range customer hardware, the models are out there, the software is out there, the know-how is out there. Even if all AI image generation is banned globally tomorrow, it will not end. Improvement on this technology won't either. People get incredibly resilient iff they're being thought-policed like that.

Also this won't happen anyways, as some very big companies with very deep pockets are interested in this technology to stick around. And as we all know, at the end of the day, they make the laws.

Had this video pop up. Seems fairly interesting, laughing at content farms is pretty easy and normally entertaining right?
But man imagine being so insufferable I'm sat here thinking that I'd rather go watch the content farm's shit. I mean how deep in the twitter activism goonhole do you have to be to preface every fucking thing you say with 'oh I know AI is bad and it's really problematic and I would never do anything like this and I love artists and I would always pay artists and I cannot see any reason why you would ever want to use AI and please artists please like me and draw tranny porn of my pngtuber icon please'. Who the fuck does this appeal to? Like yea sure content farms are bad and AI video generation is kinda meh right now, but who the fuck needs some retard to grandstand before every clip they show? Just collect a load of clips and laugh at them it really isn't hard. Actual cringe video; I'm sure I could get the 'skibidi females (vore)' bot on c.ai to write a better script for me.

Sir, that's just SaberSpark. Easily in the top 5 most annoying voices and cadences on all of YouTube, never mind what the hell he's actually talking about. The only people he should be preaching to are the schools for the deaf and blind. And the people who watch him are not far from that mental-wise.

If Kiwi wasn't acting up, I'd post that pic of Saberspark on a couch with a Bluey plushie to further your point.

There's this ai video trend called Ai Cats. They're basically weird brainrot ai-generated videos with cats in them.
This is a "normal" ai cat video

One guy however decided to follow the trend, adding a bit of spice to their videos.

Of course, a gory-looking ai cat video won't go unnoticed, as proved by this guy covering the channel.

This had proven me one incredibly obvious thing; more shock value equals more watches!

Is there any bait obvious enough, these retarded reaction/drama YouTubers won't fall for it? It's clearly just minimum effort AI catslop parody channel. That has itself managed to become somewhat of a content farm and as a slop accelerationist, I wish them great success!

I got way more enjoyment out of this comically exaggerated brainrot, than I did, trying to watch some of the pretentious "I am a persecuted AI artist" AI films, made by those trying to prove how great these AI video tools are. Main example:

I can acknowledge it took a ridiculous amount of time, but no matter how many days someone spends prompting and cutting these 5 second long clips together, I'll never see it as anything significantly more impressive, than the YouTube Kids catslop.

To be honest, the amount of vids makes me think this isn't actually someone trolling, but some deranged Southeast Asian or Indian "person" making these fully unironically, like baby monkey torture. Or they're just trolling but really dedicated to the act.
