Nintendo Switch (Currently Plagued) - Here we shit post about the new Nintendo console, The Switch

Yu-Gi-Oh would be a great proof of concept for that holodeck stuff. There's money to be made there.
Konami has been trying to get the tech and the setup for that for years. They showed off a working table for the game a few years ago.

The second they can make it commercialy viable it will undoubtedly happen.

If the Switch 2 has patches for prior Nintendo games so they can run better I’ll buy within the first year. I would love to play the Newest Zeldas and Bayonetta 3 with 60 FPS.
Wait, nuZelda still doesn't have 60fps? Ninty.... I suppose 30fps is at least better than Ocarina's 20... We've come so far haven't we?...
What the hell is "bing bing wahoo!!!?"

I feel gaming in general has reached its peak.
it reached its peek in gen 7. the ps4 era was fucking awful and nintendo was the only one to recover because they basically retcon'd the WiiU out of existence and just made a console that was also mobile cannibalizing its 3ds line. once you realize that, the shitload of units makes more sense. Nintendo kicked ass with its handhelds but struggled in consoles, so just selling a glorified handheld with the gimmick of connecting to the TV was the logical idea.

Plus they solved that "new gens don't have any games at launch" problem by just rereleasing the old games on the console no one played. by 2012 you were better off buying a PC than a console and what few games have been released the last dozen years or so play better on it and the number of exclusives is fuck all now. the modding scene is also why most people play video games anymore because people waste their time to fix the studios fuck ups. I honestly don't know how anyone could have played on console during the ps4 era.

also indie gaming is really the only quality shit thats been released the last dozen years. Barely anyone knew the guys behind the witcher 2 or dead souls 1 or yakuza 5 back then, now they're the only studios known for quality.

Sword Art Online style VR,
Not now but in 5 years maybe. the apple vision pro is ahead of its time but graphically thats where shit needs to be for people to watch shit in VR or play games. look up videos of people voice chatting with their personas, its jumped over the uncanny valley, now people just look the way they do if you're high and if you have astigmatism. 12k graphics, like the future is here, the problem is no one will pay 3k for it. also the battery issues make it a massive hassle, and that might be the other reason it won't take off. 3 hrs is also sort of the most you can spend in there without feeling off,

i don't know why people are so super upset with a introduction trailer. we know extra stuff like power from leaks but untill we see the games it means jack-shit. all we've seen are a few seconds of boing boing wahoo kart and it was never in full frame for longer then a second.
untill april this may as well have been a picture with possible fetures.

idk how LTT still gets views and subs after GamersNexus BTFO'd him away
It’s not even a linus thing it’s every one of these fans

I like Nintendo I don’t buy every thing from them but the occasion I do, I enjoy it. It’s colorful, cute and the friendly characters are break from all the absolute misery that comprises your life.

nowadays you can’t enjoy any Nintendo game without hearing how some 35 year old with arrested development says dexit was their “personal veitnam“ because their favorite pikachu clone isn’t in the game, or left to right mario games are “archaic“ or “zelda is lazy” and after years and countless video essays on why Nintendo should bring things back, alphadream comes back from the dead, muh paper mario TTYD gets acknowledged and a remake, along with a faithful mario Rpg remake. and they don’t give two rats asses after they get everything they ever wanted. Complain but still blindly consoooooooom everything nintendo makes from plushies to alarmo.

I have waited years to say this I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my back

Nigger that TTYD remake was not what we wanted, that was a monkey’s paw. It would have been more respectful for Miyamoto himself to post a tiktok saying Paper Mario was dead and never coming back.
Yeah the vivian thing overshadowed the whole game, their localization team is woke so I saw it coming from a mile away, still very bizarre that people get off on it too.

Sorry you got a direct translation instead of the changes to the original Japanese version that you wanted.

I feel gaming in general has reached its peak. What more CAN you do at this point? VR has came and went, the Switch 2 looks to be a derivate improvement from the original, PS5 has no exclusives, Xbox is just banking on being a platform. Nothing would really impress anymore compared to the 90s into the 00s.

Nintendo playing it safe is so that existing Switch owners won't feel left out from their catalog AND that Nintendo could profit from their first party titles at their original MSRP (we all know Nintendo games rarely go down in price for whatever reason.) I don't condemn them for it; it's more or less "we've seen this before."
I disagree, we can go so much further than what we have now, it's just that everyone focuses on either graphical fidelity or gimmicks, and not scope and physics in a way that is more efficient and wouldn't melt your pc/console into an elephant foot chernobyl style, more in depth mechanics and features in games, which would take more time to develop, so maybe more efficiency and better tools and supporting software/hardware to make developing games easier.

I feel like we can go so much further, even if we cannot invent new things we can certainly expand on what we do have, and maybe find new ways of implementation that would be original and "new".

Hell, there's a lot of games made in the past with unique ideas that have been left by the wayside, just waiting to be re-introduced, and companies ignore them and just chase the current popular thing and milk it for all it's worth.

I think it's more honest to say that gaming hasn't reached its peak and will never reach its peak because companies aren't willing to push the boundary anymore when it comes to development, and hold to a "good enough" mentality that has stagnated the market for years now.
