Because this is quite critical for a lot of people now. Gamers thirst for good, big budget, non-woke games and KCD2 seemed to be the first in a long, long time. Then it turned out it was all lies and the game is woke after all. Yet fans of the game and even newcomers, are so enamoured with the idea of KCD2, they can't just boycott it outright like they did with Ubishit titles. They feel compelled to cope and debate whether they should tolerate the "minimal" wokeness present in the game, because they just wanted so badly to relive the experience of the first one. Based on the previews, which of course leave out the woke shit, the game looks fantastic, something worth to play. I think we are in the bargaining phase of depression.

It's on GoG. It's free to acquire. I was already going to pirate, since I'm not sure it'll run on my PC, but now it's up in the air if I eventually buy it. Mild PL, but one side of my family is originally from the area the game is set in (and attested to as far back as the 15th century, though there's a few small gaps), so I really want it to turn out good. That they wanted to add in gay sex instead of spending a workday on implementing hardcore mode is not a good sign.

The main draw for this IP is that its the 1403 Bohemia Simulator and adding your fanfiction OC 200 IQ Black guy ruins the whole game's hook. The gameplay (atleast in the first game) takes on average 5-10 hours to master and feel really good so the main draw up until then is the universe. This isn't the Witcher or Elder Scroll where the skill celling is lower, the time to kill is faster, and the game has hundreds of mods. The listed reasons are why this will always be a niche title and why this might flop or lose a 25%-50% of its potential sales.

Its like a VR game that isn't immersive, it doesn't work unless its Boneworks, Parlov or something similar.
