I'm late to the party, yet still.

I've been largely ambivalent towards the character of Elon Musk during the years, even though I've enjoyed his occasional shitting on the politically correct shenanigans.
Still, I can scarcely believe that he is the author of these tweets presented in this video:

It beggars belief how one such as him, considering the power and resources as a successful entrepreneur that he holds, can post messages like these.

Why can’t you believe it? How do you think he got rich? His entire life he’s been exploiting the talents of others, this is just taking it to the logical conclusion now that he runs the country like he runs his businesses.

How do you think he got rich?
Through actual technical competence and through engineering know-how! :-)

It all started many years ago with articles such as these:

"Elon Musk, for those unfamiliar, is the an exceptionally rad man." ([...] 'is an exceptionally rad man', is what I believe he/she meant to say).

Indeed, I was active on the Internet when Elon Musk was beginning to build his brand, and so I was affected by it.
It's honestly saddening to see it all crumble down like this.

In 2018 Musk got pissy because his toy submarine wasn't suitable for underwater cave rescue, baselessly calling the head of the rescue team a pedo when the rescuer stated the facts to Musk. Calling anyone a pedo that disagreed, was fashionable at the time
You must have memory holed that spastic fit.

I really haven't followed the adventures of mr. Musk closely enough to have "memory holed" them or whatever.
Still, I'm trying to catch up a bit as of late, what with his affiliation to the new President of the United States of America! :-)

Please share the stories about these "toy submarines" in regards to the "underwater cave rescure". It all sounds rather depressing! :-(

His techno messiah complex got in the way. The sub was rigid, and couldnt navigate sharp bends in the cave shaft. Like a proper sperg, getting involved in situations he has no business being involved with. The kids were all rescued. The rescue team came out as heros, making Musk look like a zero. I don't think his autistic rage ever got over not being able to claim himself as the savior.

Tim Urban (an excellent writer regardless of the following) was a pretty big Elon fan a decade ago, and I distinctly remember an opinion that didn't age too well (link 1, link 2) on the Xitter purchase too. Anyway, before the pedo guy accident (a big sign of things to come with his sheer pettiness) he wasn't sperging actively enough to get most people's attention, the average nerd didn't care about him as much as they did about where he put his money into (EVs, neuralink, "AI", and most importantly SpaceX) and what overblown promises he would make. But the moment you stop using your wealth to lobby (and do whatever billionares do to protect their money and get more, preferably subtly) and go all out like the internet-addict sperg you are, and into politics of all things, is where you get judged for your own actions, so you don't pass as le cool space rocket guy to the average redditor anymore. I'm not sure whether it was unintentional and that perception he had got to his head or it was a masterplan, but he's got enough drones online that he can sperg as much as he wants while high on drugs, and his bets all seems to have paid out for now.

Elon is not a lolcow. How has this thread been going on for this many pages?
If Elon was your typical business man who created a valuable product but acted like a autistic retard I wouldn't consider him a lolcow. I mean Zucc is kind of an example of this. Zucc is an autistic retard but he created valuable things like Facebook.

Most of Musks wealth is through fake promises of vague future tech and how this hypes up his company market value and gives him government money. He is a retard but one who instead of creating value has stole it like a parasite.

I'm beginning to have vague flashbacks to that weirdass bioshock game of the 2000s, with all that howard hughes and parasaite talk itt... the big baddie guy was a cardboard cut out of howard hughes, iirc, constantly having shitfits about parasites stealing his shit. Hamfisted ayn rand references thrown in for good meassure... about a libtard colony on mars under the sea (I think thiel shilled his artificial island colonies at that time too) ... If it was fresh, would probably make a good source for memes, oh well...

Luckily he never tried to insert a team of engineers into Thailand as he'd threatened. The transport links to the cave were very limited and they would've caused a lot of problems just by being there.

A similar but less autistic adventure that slipped from the world's consciousness was Elon feeding his messiah complex during Rona with the Tesla Ventilator:
Literally cobbled together from car parts. They were never given a production contract and only ever built a few prototypes. Presumably in an attempt to save face, Tesla delivered a bunch of generic B-PAP machines (for sleep apnoea, not proper ventilators) with big Tesla stickers on the boxes to some hospital. The hospital staff were left to adapt the machines themselves.
