The plot heavy ones in general are not very strong, out of all the pony shit the best ones by are far are the ones that are just autistic comedy, like the bowling episode.

Maybe that's just because they're the most sonic-underground-like

The worst part is that we're being strung along. If he wants to drop it, I'm fine with that, but just fucking say so instead of being incredibly vague about what's going on. All we have is "sometime in 2025" which could very well be the end of the year or just not at all if he changes his mind. It feels like he's actively avoiding anything SU at this point and that really bugs me. Has he lost interest in SU? Is he avoiding talking about SU because he thinks it'd be off-putting to pony fags? He deleted the SU playlist replacing it with an MLP one and added MLP to his twitter bio. I hate to be a doomer faggot but I'm honestly just expecting to wake up one day and see him change his channel to just being about the horse show. I appreciate the years of content he's made at no charge, but it sucks to see someone slowly abandoning the long time loyal community they've had for a more lucrative one. Just clicking on a random pony video and seeing the top comments being checkmarks posting generic bullshit makes me roll my eyes. I understand there's a lot more money to be made in pony content, but it still fucking sucks to see an incredibly original comedy series be replaced with a much more generic drama one.

I'm sure the MLP videos getting a lot of attention doesn't help, but I think part of the problem is how he's built up Tamers as a character where he can't really admit "I've been feeling burned out on SU and MLP ended up being refreshing and surprisingly fun to make after the initial crossover was supposed to be a one-off thing. I'm putting SU on the backburner until I feel like I've got some good ideas for it and I don't know how long that'll take." Part of the fun is not knowing a lot about him past his online persona and I think him being honest about this would be too much of a character break, so instead the answer is just "Bartleby will never die BITCH"

This is the same shit that happened with Homestuck, The vivziepop shitshows, and about like 10 or more other unique internet comedy things turned boring forced melodrama things on top of those two I'm not gonna ramble abut due to the level of time it'd encompass. This shits practically tradition at this point but tamers vids are like the last place i'd expect it to occur with considering how long they've been going without that. If there was drama about characters relations it always still had an air of funny about it even when "serious" and I respect that. We'll know if shit's gone south into the prior instances once there's some weird monologuing outof nowhere by characters who never had aproblem with being gay or something like that suddenly treating it like it was this super secretrepressed thing in an unironic manner. Had to take a break from homestuck back in the day when they pulled that shit with Dave of all people.

For context for those not in the know, Dave was a white rapper kid who was the younger brother of a guy that's goofy gimmick was he was a locally popular texan comedian who had a site dedicated to uploading gay muppet porn parodies. Out of nowhere during the infamously padded out "act 6" era of the comic there was this huge fucking out of nowhere bit where despite him making occasional gay meme references and shit and nobody in the cast having any issue with being gay ever he just starts on this "guys... is it ok to say i'm gay? I'm gay guys" type shit for like 3 whole textwall pages or some shit and it's not played for laughs it's supposed to be a 100% serious character moment that's intended as super shocking and heartfelt. Thing is it only works as that if you fucking didn't read through EVERY FUCKING PART OF THE COMIC UP TO THAT POINT. Fucking hell man "woah no clearly the dudebro who's been surrounded by puppet ass in a comical manner and made gay references was totally jsut covering up being gay guys woah super shocking oooah!" Not the only case of that kind of shit in post act 6 homestuck either.

Helluva boss does this in the way where where the comedically sex pest gay stolas guy constantly harassing MC blitzo gets woobified after season 1 into gay melodrama love triangle misunderstood babby who did nothing wrong and more and more shit excusing it like saying "oh the pilot/ early episodes werent canon!" despite shit relying on the early stuff for loe reasons. Rambled about thisin the other thread covering those series but the characters in that are clearly made for fluid squash and stretch comedy animation but you see a clear shift after season 1 where it's a lot less that and more static stilted mopey shit, making me feel like the inclusion of that was a secret way of saving animation effort and being able to do shit as quickly and cheaply as possible. Thankfully Tamers is immune to this specific variation due to the animation already being barebones with the comedy dialogue and funny imagery being the main focus, rather than looney tunes style fluidity in motion.

As for the playlist removal, I’m not that sad about that because he didn’t really continue with it for very long.

Minus the, “I’m being burned out on SU” part, he said almost that exact thing in the Purp interview. He said the MLP series was like his Zatch Bell series - he wanted to test to see if a second series would do well. Because barely anyone watched Zatch Bell he cancelled it after two episodes (but one more is in the works), MLP was so well received that he decided to continue with it.

Yea, even the most autistic sperg has to get kinda burnt on drawing the same shit for a literal decade, I can't blame him for wanting to shift gears for a while.

The funniest shit about today is that the veteran animator that the gay guy hovering around Tamers pissed off returned with a full vid.
Overall a better watch than Tamers' current fujoshi/visible shit stained asses arc.
