Russian Special Military Operation in the Ukraine - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

Audit or anything else will cause all front lines to collapse.
If that happens, Ukraine is gone
"My fellow Americans, I am pleased to announce that our GREAT and POWERFUL auditors have been successfully evacuated from Lvov! This is an unprecedented success for AMERICA! and I thank President Putin for granting safe passage for the DC10!
By the way, this is all Biden's fault."

Flag was raised by Russian troops in central Velykaya Novosylka.

Fico is claiming that some parties are trying to start a Coup like Maidan. The media is working overtime to show how this isn't true
A coup in Russia or Ukraine? If you're talking about an imaginary coup in Russia we're happy to talk about it but you may be happier discussing it in the other thread.

It's pretty obvious from his recent Davos statements that contradict one another. Trump tweets he is imposing YUUUGE tariffs on Russia? Zelensky says there will be no negotiations until the 2022 borders are restored. Trump says he will make peace? Zelensky bounces and squeaks he is ready to end the war immediately.

Mind you, he made both statements in the same day.
"The Jew had not the slightest recollection of the day before, he rattled off his same old nonsense as though nothing at all had happened, and, if indignantly challenged, affected amazement; he couldn't remember a thing, except that he had proved the correctness of his assertions the previous day [....] Gradually, I began to hate them."

Russians usually do this because if troops are completely cut off, they have two options: surrender or fight, and there IS a chance - especially with ukrainians - that they choose the later.
If there is a corridor where they can escape, they will try it instead of a last effort hail mary, and will take huge losses in the process. Less dangerous for russian soldriers, at the cost of letting some ukies escape.
Running for miles across fields at night in freezing temperatures and with IR equipped drones mobbing you.

Id be surprised if the death rate of anyone trying to escape isn’t well past 50%. And without risking a single Russian soldier.

So, do we have any reliable numbers of how many troops are encirlced in Novosilka?
Can’t remember them, but it’s going to hit hard irres of numbers. Most of the troops there have been there for years. Well trained and know the local area. It’s the kind of hardcore ukrops that signed up in 2022. Each one is worth 10 bussified middle aged men.

There's also a river blocking the only avenue of escape, thus the Russians can concentrate fire on whichever bridges Ukraine manages to keep intact or rebuild.
It's going to be bad for anyone left there, as anyone with a map could have predicted. Yet another completely avoidable slaughter.

Losing the city itself is also going to have a notable impact. It's never been taken before, and this sector is where Ukraine made the greatest advances during their ill-advised summer offensive. They've lost everything gained, and then some.

The fact that these fucks don't even put in 5% for NATO should be embarrassing, but they act like it's their right to get protection for free.
I disagree.
It's a two way deal: the US provides "security" to EU nations, so they can slack off with the military spending.
In return, NATO basically does whatever the US says it does. IE: arm an east european country with weapons, so an american proxy war can happen.

All that said: I'm still highly in favor of disbanding NATO and either a separate EU alliance or each country for itself.

The problem with Europeans is they don't realize how irrelevant they are without especially Russia resources. Not to mention that they haven't realized that the old order is gone. Everything is changing. The US no longer needs to be oriented towards the Atlantic, watching Brezhnev sleep. And China and the Global South have risen and are and will continue to be the economic block.

Then of course there is no real independent Euro-based financial system. Any European bank is toast if it gets excluded from the USD financial system.

Brussels could do something about that, but it would require lot of money and lot of time. And, of course, as soon as the US gets a sniff of what's going on, it would come most likely after EU with everything it has. There is no worse nightmare for the US than a sufficiently large independent financial system which does not need the USD and the Wall Street banks. It would be a serious threat to US' ability to refinance its debt and be catastrophic situation for US.

So yeah Euro's are truly cucked.

I also believe Trump wanting Greenland isn't his idea. But an idea that has been floating by US Admin for a while. Greenland is a treasure trove of resources that would help US fight China and the global South economically, a gateway to the Arctic shelf, a unsinkable aircraft carrier on the north-eastern approaches to the continental US.

Leaving it to Euro's would be a fools move. Especially since EU can't really do anything short term about it. (if they wanted) Since well, they depend on US completely, not only for its financial system as said above, but also for its security.

It also hasn't helped that EU managed to isolate themselves on the world stage. An also gotten an image as a American controlled and obedient clown with false sense of superiority.

Edit

I personally hope America gets Greenland simply because i want to see EU's reaction. That and frankly Greenland deserves better then to be stuck to a country that sole "contribution" to the human race is pickled herring.
