Realistically, it's because it's just drug use with a wealthy family. The charge involving the kid isn't nearly that big of deal either because there's a lot to suggest exposure was accidental. No other kid tested positive, most likely none of them reported physical abuse, etc. The modern approach is treating this stuff as a disease as opposed to a crime.It really is quite a likely possibility. Small county town official getting a small sack of change for an easy decision? I smell fuckery afoot.
