Sony hate thread

the only game that's gonna spark some interest is bloodborne, and that's not because it's a sony exclusive but a from game and there are a lot of souls-fags.
And it's been speculated that part of the reason Sony hasn't bitten the bullet and ported it to PC already is that some (potentially substantial) portion of its code and other assets have gone missing and quite possibly lost. i.e. they quietly want to port it, but can't because they don't have (and can't get) what they need to do it.

Yeah it's called a Nintendo Switch. That's what the normies are buying and playing games on.
Normies are buying (mtx) and playing on smartphones. Carrying around a Switch is a friction point even for hardcore gamers. Everyone has phones despite how much people made fun of that Blizzard employee.
Back when I still liked the Sony formula I was pretty excited for the Wolverine game after I played Spider-Man. Not after Spider-Man 2. Oh how us doomers are created…
I'm 100% convinced it's all related to Trump Derangement Syndrome one way or another, the timeline corroborates it. Spider-Man 1 started production well before Trump got elected. It's right after that when western studios started over-"correcting" everything from product to production staff.

Square Enix had to remake the first Kingdom Hearts because of something like this.

Carrying an expensive sought after console around is retarded unless you enjoy getting mugged by meth heads.

I miss Twisted Metal.
The one they brought back in the 2010s was pretty good. It was a bit darker but I liked it. Good fuck

see the current AAA model dying, especially as with generative AI
Tencent just came out with an AI program that makes and animates 3D models. I expect a shit ton of slop to flood the markets soon. Even worse than before.
Which is going to be a nightmare for optimization because I'd wager AI does not know how to make a model memory size friendly.

For those that are waiting for Soynys new Wolverine game..

For those who haven't seen the leaks. I assure it that the "aesthetics" are the least of this game's problem, considering the very core gameplay is fucked. From what I remember of the leaks, the game supposedly has crafting mechanics for smoke bombs &, I shit you not, medkits... in a Wolverine game... This is putting aside the game seeming to be more cinematic than gameplay.

Of course, that doesn't mean that aesthetics are not a problem at all, considering what they did to Jean Grey & Callisto.

This has always been a pet peeve of mine regarding Wolverine as a character. Very interesting from a narrative stand point, a great comic book character that lends himself well for animation and movies but as a video game character I find him unappealing because of the very nature of his powers. It is very difficult to design mechanics around a character that can shrug off mortal wounds with ease, has regenerating health and his attacks are limited to hacking and slashing enemies with his claws as his only weapons.

X-Men Origins: Wolverines is guilty of being a very faithful game to the character to the point that in a normal playthrough Logan is essentially unkillable and his attacks consist on him cutting all opposition to ribbons. It is cool from a spectacle point of view but it can get repetitive and tedious after a while.

It takes a very talented team of game developer to find a way to be both faithful to the source material while at the same time creating a level of challenge and variety within the constrains of said source material. If Insomniac is resorting to jumping the shark by including cheap bullshit like smoke bombs and medkits, we can say with confidence that the talent left the studio a long time ago.

For the first half I would say just look at Call of Duty, or something, but the forced melee makes it a bit difficult...

I remember once upon a time a Hulk demo came to my hands. The only thing I remember is fighting tanks. It could be a stupid game of mindless killing, like Doom in melee? But the world is far too serious for such games now, let alone Sony...

Didn't a working version of Wolverine leak for PC and the whole thing is a rugpull where you only play as Wolverine for a short time?
A "completable" but far from finished version leaked. You play as Wolverine for most of the game, but Jean Grey is also playable and has a significant portion of it. The leak is that there'll be a Wolverine 2 and than an X-Men (Wolverine 3) title as part of their package deal with Disney. Each can also have a side game/spin-off/expansion similar to Miles for Spiderman.

A good way to go about it would be the way the Webtoon Noblesse did it. Have a way that causes regeneration to be halted when inflicted a specific kind of attack. Alternatively, they could go the time limit route and punish taking too long.

We've had models that can do this for a while and yes there is already a deluge of AI-generated slop that runs like ass because it bloats the geometry unnecessarily.

It was GamerGate in 2014. That basically kicked off an ideological culling within the major AAA studios (although it had been happening behind the scenes since Gen Xers started moving into management in the mid-to-late 00s) and that's how you end up with insane statistics like "46% of game devs identify as LGBTQ."

TDS probably exacerbated things but games were already becoming gay and niggerfied which was one of the reasons why GG blew up the way it did.
