The funniest parts to me personally during this whole deportation sensation is how utterly clueless or disingenuous the average shitlib is and how thin a stance they actually have in all aspects. There is no variation of a position they can take that isn't inherently retarded, negative or just an outright foundation of lies.

1) They're not slaves they're just paid far under market value and not given benefits because of the implications (the implications being I could do away with them if they complain or ask for more, they should be grateful I allow them! I"M THE GOOD GUY HERE!)
2) No no it's okay if our crime rate is elevated and I'm not safe at night otherwise it would be MEAN to these people to turn them away. What no I don't believe in crime statistics either.

4) Their countries are beautiful and they should be proud of them and they are NOT shitholes... Which is why it's a crime worse than death to send them back to them.
5) BUT THEIR FOOD IS SO YUMMY!? IE: The helpless adult-infant's clarion call who has never eaten a meal that their parents didn't provide or didn't come in a cardboard or foam container.

You can also tell these people don't travel abroad. "Ethnic" food in the US is frequently changed and modified to fit American pallets. If you actually go to other countries you would be very surprised what the locals actually eat.

The thing I always disliked about the food argument is that they do not understand that most all of the immigrant food is Americanized anyway by virtue of making do with what ingredients are available here and if you're making a business out of it you need to suit the palate of the hosts. Most Mexican food popular in America is pretty much just Tex Mex already and it's not arcane knowledge. You don't need the people here to make it. They already don't make it like they would down home anyway. It's always been a disingenuous argument.

Edit: sort of ninja'd. I should also say that the vast majority of ethnic groups we don't see any food get popularized from. Haitian food...uh...Afghan food? no.......most of the Asian foods are brought here by legit immigrants and not illegals.

It's not an open-air prison. It's a normal, closed prison with walls and bars and razor wire. That's the whole point.

"Safe third country" seems to reference asylum laws, with the idea that if you leave your own country because it's unsafe, you travel to the first safe country to request asylum, so they're not ruling out that these people might be legitimate refugees, thus some may stay long term and freely in El Salvador.

If it is just a deal to imprison them there, based for Trump, based for Bukele, and I just hope we're going to send them over with the understanding that we claim no jurisdiction over them and they're Salvador's problem, so future administrations don't have power to ask for them back. I'd really like to see El Salvador do well with the moves they've been making recently.
