That basically kicked off an ideological culling within the major AAA studios (although it had been happening behind the scenes since Gen Xers started moving into management in the mid-to-late 00s) and that's how you end up with insane statistics like "46% of game devs identify as LGBTQ."

Its all been a continuous chain of shit dating back to Occupy Wall Street/Obama/Housing Collapse/9/11 so on but GamerGate + Trump one-two punch really sent the faggots into overdrive. The first half of the 2010s vs the second half is a mirror image on how extreme everything got.

Twisted Metal on PS3 was nowhere near as good as TM1+2 and TM Black. That's probably why the game sales tanked and the studio got shut down and it's been a dead IP ever since.

I know Sony had a live service TM game in development that got canceled not too long ago, but that was a good thing because I would rather TM stay dead instead of being brought back as some live service trash.

I liked it.... I'm playing through Forbidden West again now. Tons of padding but it's an easy game. It's also funny because the one redhead in the universe doesn't actually have a soul due to her birth.

It's less than "no one likes her" and more of a "no one cares enough about her" situation. Insomuch as you've got to have some modicum of long time engagement with something to develop that iconism devotion that other mascots have. Like back in the day, many a kid sat in front of a tv while playing as mario, or link, or sonic, or freaking bonk even. The Horizon games came out during a time when AAA had solidified into a uniform-looking spectacle, not terrible, but also lacking any longstanding memorative qualities. It's easier to link the PS1 to Cloud, Crash Bandicoot, one of the wipeout cars and Snake than it is Alloy to whatever part of the sony brand Herman Hulst is attempting.

Which is why my favourite joke regarding the series is that it is cursed and that every one of their games will be overshadowed by the ACTUAL GAME OF THE YEAR! I look forward to the next Horizon game. It is destined to release next to a banger. Even the Lego game released next to Echoes of Wisdom and Astrobot. CURSED I SAY! CURSED!
