Go back to smaller, family owned farms; offer free produce to the locals to have their kids do the picking.

I really wish there was a way to make everyone's backyard yield at least a little something, and the community could come together to assist in all aspects of the scenario. There are a lot of urban areas that have community gardens and a People's Orchard was recently planted in my area - expanding, and perhaps even subsidizing via reduced property tax, could help tremendously with not only food security but the sense of interconnectedness required to maintain a stable society.

Also, if we here in the bughive have to deal with the sounds of thumpcars, I vote to allow for all residents with a lot of X square feet can have chickens. Well fed kids are healthier, more attentive, and produce higher test scores. Kids fed goyslop have lower attention spans, get hungrier and thus more distracted more quickly, and have more behavioural issues. Kids with bad home lives if fed well at school will go to school and learn in order to be fed.
But no, costcutting minmax bureaucratic faggotry declares that a few base carbs, mystery meat that's probably 40% cartilage and fat, and some fruit/veg in a form no child would ever eat are the order of the day.
Reminder that if you think you hate bureaucrats and bean-counters enough- you don't. They don't only ruin your school food, but that same thought process is responsible for how shit and low-quality literally all other food you buy from a big chain is.

There's a proposal called FairTax that's been around for 20 years to replace personal income tax with sales tax. There are some shitty things about it, in particular a monthly stipend to make the tax "fair" to poor people which would enlarge the welfare state and vastly increases the implementation cost.

In reality though, there's no need to make the tax burden "fair", because the welfare funded by taxes isn't "fair" either. Just keep existing need-based programs around for now.
