I am a highly respected rock breeder and would like to know of you would be interested in allowing me to breed your rock with one of my own stock.
My rock is pure bred quartz, the highest quality crystal you've ever seen, so you'll need to sell me on your breed of rock before I'll consider letting the two exchange frequencies.

Also in the property tax increasing for the elderly, my county freezes school taxes after 65 I think. I don't know if this is a state thing, a country thing, or a just my county thing. But do any limit increases to property taxes based on appraisals after a certain age?
Freezing property taxes at 65 is a practical way to address the problem, but I still assert you don't actually own your own property and would rather taxes be raised in a different manner.

Nice, easy to collect tax, you got there.
Yep. So easy that people just pay it!
Call the partnership a nation and you're paying for national defense. Are you going to defend property not owned by you if the owner doesn't pay into this national defense?
Apples to oranges. A homestead is not village is not a city is not a state is not a country is not a world. Just because you have interactions between different levels of government does not mean they are the same.
Land Tax. You are ignorant of what a Land Tax is.
No I'm not, but why should I bother discussing a land tax with you when I was specifically calling out property tax and all of my arguments were about property tax?
You are responding to an example of a recourse.
A reverse mortgage is still you having to sacrifice your equity in your property in order to stay in your home and whatever equity you give up your kids don't get back. Fuck your recourse.

All taxes do this. Sales Tax taxes the items you depend on for survival.
You're right. Fair point. Taxation is theft after all.

I feel like we don't really know each other that well in this thread.

Let's have an ice breaker, shall we?

Actually, no, let's have 40 brand new icebreakers. YUGE ones.

Actual infrastructure and problems being planned for, instead of reacted to? Mister Trump, what are you doing? It's like you want to make a functional government people won't mind paying for!
We're going to need those icebreakers to get through the Northwest Passage, and sail above the 51st State.

lmao they are fucked, this is from yesterday and its actually worth reading, the author was embeded within the group, he says in the article

"When we got to the front line they took one look at their "fortifications" and began to abandon the cause in droves"

Remember during the first year the response you would get if you dared suggest this was a US proxy war? They all lied us into this mess and we're just supposed to forget and keep it going.

All of my grandparents (that have now passed away) were democrats who didn’t realize what dei was.
IQ is heritable but not necessarily an indicator of success. I'm certain that you and I have met people who were sharp as a tack, but work a shit job so they can go home to their video games and goon caves. Or people destined for greatness taken down by addiction. I don't know about you, but I have met people who were not very intelligent and had no booksmarts at all, but they could work with their hands, they had a solid work ethic, made a good living at a trade, found a wife, had kids, and bought a house. Respectfully, I think that epigenetics and environmental factors have a lot more influence than I think you're giving credit right now.
I’ve known too many nerds to buy into intelligence equating life success. It does help certainly though. There’s also a difference between executive function, social awareness, and intelligence. There’s a lot of smart people who are not functional. I certainly wouldn’t want Mensa autists running everything

IMO part of the reason there was a stigma in society against intelligence is that for a long time it was a detriment to be creative if you’re working in a factory or mine. And there weren’t as many opportunities for bright people. Now days being smart can be an asset because of the tech sector. I’d also argue that being socially impaired is a bigger detriment than being an idiot because we humans are inherently social beings.

to describe 'politically-targeted audits' and not get that you are word for word describing diversity enforcement is just comedy gold.

what must it be like inside the brains of people who are this close to understanding? they just don't get that they're describing the system we are leaving behind now. if mental gymnastics were an olympic sport the united states would win bronze, silver, and gold all concurrently.

There's a website called "Joe Is Done" that has a search function for federal grants and non-profits that's quite hilarious lmao https://joeisdone.github.io/nonprofit/ / https://joeisdone.github.io/award_search/

Sounds like Bimbo bakery needs to be investigated. How did all their illegal workers get car insurance??

Also most Americans over a certain age used to do construction jobs when they were children and do in fact know the esoteric art of mixing, pouring and setting concrete, among a great many other skills. We just expect to get paid a decent wage that will be spent in the USA.
