It'd be better than seeing landwhale cripples rolling around Walmart in their mobility scooters and buying Coke, cigarettes, and steak on EBT while their mutt son throws Pokemon cards in the cart. I have no empathy for anyone who didn't prepare for the future and are wasting my tax dollars.
Hey, dipshit, you can't buy cigarettes on EBT. If you're going to endlessly bitch and moan about something, at least know what it does before shitting up the thread.

The research at the lab is used in shit like future space exploration and, importantly, things like oil research for more efficient extraction etc. Geology is more helpful than you might think.
The oil industry needs my taxdollars to subsidize their research and exploration?

Bull. Shit.

[The oil/gas industry has the best geologists and chemists in the world. They aren't relying on a grant-funded gov't wagie]

Its the same reason why in all animal and control human studies we have found that positive reinforcement has been proven over and over and over to lead to the desired outcome faster and more often with statically significant repeatability, however negative reinforcement is show over and over and over to make achieving the desired outcome slower and less likely to occur with significant repeatability.

Yet when presented with this same information at a lecture senior fighter pilot instructors protested vigorously that they have trained men to fly for decades and they were confident that the science was simply incongruent with their experience

They summed it up like this, "If a guy makes a great landing I can praise him to the moon and back but in my experience they usually dont do as good on the next one, but if they fuck up a landing and I scream at them they usually land better the next time, so your study may say one thing but my experience says another"
People deeply and I think sometimes purposefully misunderstand positive reinforcement. From a psychological standpoint both praise and scolding are positive reinforcement. Positive reinforcement is additive hitting some one with a two by four or giving them a piece of candy are both examples of positive reinforcement. On the hand negative reinforcement isn't always a punishment. Negative reinforcement on the other hand is subtractive losing desert or getting to skip school are both examples of negative reinforcement.

Edit nevermind I'm half right reinforcement is always a reward getting hit by a two by four is an example of positive punishment and losing desert is a negative punishment l'm mostly just tired of hippies who think the only acceptable teachingt mechanism is a hug

I admit that I was more arguing in favor of "general" social welfare rather than the specific program. But asylums were run the exact same way as well, to be honest with you.
To a degree asylums are a necessary evil, facilities can realistically only be expected to do so much with the mentally ill. They can be highly regulated though.

The OPM hasn't even staked the vampire in the heart yet. Wait until they pass a law limiting foreign employment by US federal government contractors and public universities. You haven't seen a meltdown until that happens. 10's of thousands of foreigners from China and India alone are employed at public institutions. The cataclysmic consequences in countless specialized fields in near unthinkable. We're talking wage increases and job opportunities in critical fields like never before seen.

Fracking is incredibly destructive to the water table and causes toxic contamination of the water supply. It is not a sustainable "fix." It shouldn't even be a thing.
No, it isn't incredibly destructive to the water table, and no, it doesn't cause toxic contamination of the water supply. It is sustainable so long as there is sufficient petroleum and natural gas in the rock to make it economically viable. It has been a thing at large scale in the United States for 20 years with the minimal problems that are unavoidable in any large scale industrial activity because humans are not perfect. Sod off, swampy

FUNDING CLOSED DUE TO AIDS
The Mexicans have long deserved their own Pool's Closed song, and recent events make it seem that much more appropriate. The lyrics were translated from Spanish so it sounds more authentic.

What the actual fuck?? I assumed basic things like this were required by default.

Wait till you find out California voted to require that you be a citizen to get medicaid but a (((judge))) blocked it because "would be too hard to enforce and probably doesn't cost enough to justify it"

These people have gotten away with massive amounts of shit by abusing the goodwill of the american people.

Is there a reason she waited till now to pull this stunt? Let me guess: waiting for the check to clear?

While I agree that we shouldn't be a nation where people starve or go without care I believe these welfare programs have gone so far as to induce a moral panic. Entire subsets of our population exist on government handouts. Get rid of the system and make them work.

Didn't work the first time. In any case asylums should only be for the mentally ill, not someone who was injured and crippled.
No, it isn't, and no, it doesn't. Sod off, swampy
It 100% does, and you are either arguing in bad faith or are economically reliant on the industry and coping/sneeding/etc. The wells they throw up in PA cause toxic contaminations from spillage and then they discharge it into the water supply. Maybe in your state they do it differently.

you raise such a great point

It was the Jan 6th protest that help me realize all the leftists talking points are simply to get power.
There's a concept called Container Words, which is when a word is used not for it's actual definition but contains a sort of amorphous concept. It's like when a Leftist calls you an -ist or a -phobe, they're not actually saying that you hate people or fear them, they're attempting to convey that you're a bad person they disagree with. They wrap it in a container word in an attempt to emotionally manipulate you. Racism was always meant to be used like this, I want to say that Leon Trotsky basically invented the modern term specifically to be used like that. The point was to make you defensive, so instead of beating their argument down on merits, you now feel obligated to defend yourself, "I'm not a racist," and now you're out in the weeds where they can beat you for being a bad person, instead of having to defend their actual shitty argument. They go on about how speech is violence specifically because it's projection, that's how they use language.

It's why the aforementioned Anime pissed so many leftist weebs off, because they immediately saw themselves in a race of human eating predators who use language to lower the defenses of their prey. Turns out racist Grandma Frieren was completely right in killing them all because they were always wolves in sheep's clothing. Every once in awhile the Japs get something right.

Went to Daily Kos to get a little seethe and cope lulz, and man they did not disappoint.

For some reason I found this story and comments particularly pathetic: https://www.dailykos.com/stories/20..._page&pm_source=top_news_slot_1&pm_medium=web

“REEEEEEE!!!! They’re RENAMING something on maps!!! HOW IS THIS LEGAL?!?”

The comments are of course just as pathetic as you’d imagine.

Brett Kavanagh all over again. I told you guys Bobby was going to be the hard one
Him and Tulsi are going to be the ones I have my doubts about being voted in, hopefully they decide not to be gay about it. A large part of why I voted for Trump was because I wanted RFK Jr. to kill the Healthcare scam going on, it's literally creating a generation of autistic children and is likely the main culprit of the tranny cult.

It is already up:

It also puts a stop to WPATH Guidelines "agencies shall rescind or amend all policies that rely on WPATH guidance, including WPATH’s “Standards of Care Version 8”; "

It also puts in ways to punish and help parents who lost thier children to the courts due to refusing transitions:

"
(a) review Department of Justice enforcement of section 116 of title 18, United States Code, and prioritize enforcement of protections against female genital mutilation;

(b) convene States’ Attorneys General and other law enforcement officers to coordinate the enforcement of laws against female genital mutilation across all American States and Territories;

(c) prioritize investigations and take appropriate action to end deception of consumers, fraud, and violations of the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act by any entity that may be misleading the public about long-term side effects of chemical and surgical mutilation;

(d) in consultation with the Congress, work to draft, propose, and promote legislation to enact a private right of action for children and the parents of children whose healthy body parts have been damaged by medical professionals practicing chemical and surgical mutilation, which should include a lengthy statute of limitations; and

(e) prioritize investigations and take appropriate action to end child-abusive practices by so-called sanctuary States that facilitate stripping custody from parents who support the healthy development of their own children, including by considering the application of the Parental Kidnaping Prevention Act and recognized constitutional rights."

Sad that an EO had to be passed about this, but hey, better late than never, right?

...and you waited until now to say this becauuuuuseeee?

I used to post Markov generated text to [various forums] in the '90s and it was surprising even then that while most people figured it out pretty quickly, there were people who would respond to it over and over, even though it should have been obvious.

There have been a few times where someone took something from the Postmodern Generator and submitted it to a journal or conference and had it accepted. I forget if Lindsey used it when he recreated the Sokal hoax or if all of those were hand crafted, but I don't find it at all surprising that some people can't tell.

I'm starting to think Kamala really did bankrupt the DNC. This is their first response to hundreds of EO's and it's pathetic. If they were flush with cash there would've already been a hundred lawsuits filed. Instead it's just totally ineffectual disarray.

I don't think they were prepared at all for Trump's blitzkrieg of the past week and have been caught completely flat footed by it. By the time they can even figure out a response to something, Trump has already moved on and done half a dozen other things.

When I heard "research" I assumed "military research" and thus the meetings were to figure out what to tell people, stalling, figuring out if they should say it's military at all, arguing they don't want to give anything away at all... etc. But that's a gut feeling nothing more.

I don't see why they're trying to hide it. Anyone with a brain can figure out it's related to the military and it's not as though Russia, China, or any other country that would want to spy on us isn't going to realize it either. Trump should just come up and claim it's new military tech that's really capable and will be used to destroy anyone who fucks with us. At that point people will just lose interest and move on, whereas this aura of mystery just makes people more curious.

I’ve known too many nerds to buy into intelligence equating life success. It does help certainly though.

Intelligence has the second strongest correlation with life success in America. The strongest predictor of success is work ethic. In other words, you can be of low or average intelligence, but if you have the drive to work hard you'll be better off on average than someone who's more intelligent but has no drive or slacks off.
