None of this is particularly shocking considering the community he's fostered but it's still a bit disappointing to see him fall into the same fear mongering so many leftists do.
dude this and the past post is such a black pill for me, i was super into f&h 1, and got into it at nearly the perfect time since 2 came out shortly after. of course, he had repeatedly talked about adding extra stuff to 1 still AND 2, but then like heavily into the update for 2 he somehow basically fucked all his progress with no backups. and doesn't want to have any minor updates until it's a massive expac basically so for all intents and purposes they've been super dead for so long there's been multiple speedrunners of it that just kind of mastered everything. did the turbo no weapons, no legs etc challenge runs, and still jack shit. no new characters, nothing with caligura, pav, samarie etc (although fan mods have done that multiple times lmao), nothing, just screenshots, and assurance that theres STILL going to be no new characters when the update actually happens, they'll PROBABLY come later.
1 was very good and seemed to have a specific, unique artistic vision, cahara was going into the area as a high risk/reward effort to find treasure to buy the freedom of a prostitute he fell in love with, d'arce going ride or die for her commander, enki for more power and knowledge, and ragnvaldr tbh i forget, basically conan. each was unique enough that replays or getting them as party members was fun, their endings and alternative ends were fun, game was difficult as shit and annoying mostly by design but there's enough tricks and shortcuts that as long as you enjoy the gameplay it made it feel more accomplishing than being a pia, and deaths suck but bring "maybe i can get that sooner, maybe ill get a better gear drop this time, kill enemies without being maimed" etc. reaching the deeper bosses was exciting and scary, difficult, fun to achieve and kill. expys, rip offs etc were mostly minimal that i can recall or were from such vague shit that it was more acceptable.
pocketcat was just a very mysterious, fucked up (suggested in dark souls type lore tidbits) apostle of the god of chaos, requesting a little girl and doing the groin shit, like a eldritch power that's too powerful to mess with but *wrong* and best avoided. he WORKED like that, better yet could have made him constantly in chaotic flux instead of being exactly same appearance ulysses from nv type author avatar fuckery they turned him into in termina. he shouldn't have been explicitly a fandom furry just a being that can fuck with people. ie loki in stories etc. some ideas with him in termina were interesting, like daan being completely broken and being assimilated or whatever by/as it. but the author shit just ruined it all.
characters in 2 were all pretty fun gameplay wise with tons of customization for replays and alternatives, but again too damn many of the super interesting ones aren't directly playable and have jack shit for content until end game. and my god, the fuckin expys are distracting as fuck, especially when you know the sources. like the general monsters being heavily based off of a certain older artist's work (can't remember the name) is kind of creatively bankrupt but it still works and they're creepy. but my brother in christ miro, you decided to make LITERAL FUCKIN ART FROM TERRIFIER as one of the most important recurring bosses and integral to daan's plot. it's supposed to be like a fucked up frankenstein of the chick he was into if i remember correctly but for all intents and purposes, in game it's just permanently art the clown. some older art assets were shit like just a cartoony marilyn manson face for caliguras profile shot etc. the four armed furry super boss with cocksuck lore and some of the best gear, the angel oc superboss with more cocksuck lore and best gear, and i think yall mentioned marina being based off a troon in his discord too i think? that goes deeper too because even upon foundation of the game, "she" was going to be a key character. others like levi may have been too not 100%, but i remember specifically marina because in one of the prototypes of the game in a different time period, miro mentioned the moles on their face were originally piercings or vice versa. and yeah everyone being ultra into them is retarded, additionally marco being like 95% jojo reference. it just all adds up to feeling way too much like a shit fanfic mod half the time. there's some really good shit in there, but too much shit pulls you out too.
