Canada is a failed state

I'm not a conservative and I don't believe in CERB 2.0, but probably for oddly socialist reasons as I don't trust big business. They've proposed bail outs for business and stipends for laid off workers. For the first part, I don't believe in trickle down economics - you're handing business money in hopes of them not passing the cost of the trade war down to the consumer. There are far too many loop holes businesses have already used to pocket subsidies and still keep costs high without tariffs. For the latter, EI can easily be expanded with either more funding or additional weeks which keeps people in the system that can possibly retrain very capable individuals (VS those on social assistance who do gig work or have been unable to keep employment long enough to obtain EI).

I think in this case, either everyone is bailed out or no one is. I would rather endure prudent hardship than give even more money to big business in Canada. Perhaps it could work elsewhere but not here, not right now.

I would support a UBI that gave consumers greater purchasing power and choice with the caveat that it would be like Doug Ford's voter buying scheme where individuals receive 200-300$ a month in untaxed social assistance and each child in the house receives the same to the guardians (so a family of 4 gets 800$ a month). It should be an extremely "basic income supplement" that runs for 24-36 months. Not enough to live on like CERB but it increases provincial pressure to solve certain problems like affordability, healthcare, education costs, funding existing social assistance programs because the feds are not just handing out 2k. In the short term, it allows consumers to cover their own costs of the trade war while the businesses figure out how to pivot and/or the feds negotiate a solid deal (impossible, Trump cannot be trusted).

I don't even identify as a socialist and I'm fine if we all have nothing too. But that's all of us. Galen Weston and the Irving's get fucking nothing too and we all suffer. I'm not supporting the status quo of keeping these big businesses that have been fucking us ultra wealthy. I don't care how many times they frame it as it being some small business like what ones? The ones that already closed due to all the other issues prior to this? If it makes me a communist then I guess I'll have to be a communist but I'm not sitting here trusting the government or big business. I'm just saying if they're giving hand outs at all, they better be for everyone or no one.

I was at like maybe 35% feeling Carney as he came in with most of it just giving a fair chance to a new candidate but he's a supporter of this subsidy so he is back at like 5% with Jagmeet on probability of me voting for them.

They are. I went on a hunting trip in north(ish) ontario last fall. It was the first time I'd been north of timmins in about 10-15 years. Many of the stores, restaurants, and truckstops were run by dot indians. The closest town to the camp had a population of 200. Both the convenience and hardware store were run, and probably owned, by indians. I stopped at a Wendy's in North Bay, all indians. Last time I was there, the only indians around were our indians. There's no escaping the indians, they have an endless supply.

My family lives in north central ontario. There were no brown people there (except tourists) prior to covid. The high school had 150 kids before. It was all white, except a handful natives prior to the lockdowns. It's grown more than 50% since.

Also, I've started seeing this shit pop up around my small town.
Never been to Canada, but I know Timmins is rather far next to Manitoba, and in a region pretty cold. Interesting... Guess the next step is to see if they're willing to go into high criminality rates terirtories such as Iqaluit see if they can withstand the Snow Injuns.

Also... interesting how the two tier policing doesn't say crap about activism in regards to "join marxist revolution" shit.

And, for above in the "investigation". I foolish believed 15 or so years ago that Canada was "different and not corrupt". Pfft. Guess this happens all over the world, be it in s Turd World Country in "LatinoAmérica" or a soon-to-be ruined country. I feel for you Canadians.

That’s not how UBI works, it’s why UBI doesn’t work and has never once worked even in little pilot projects. Who pays for it? By “pays for it” I mean, who is creating the goods and services that the government can take at gunpoint to give to UBI recipients?

If it’s not being generated by economic activity it’s just inflationary money printing and it’s useless. Printed money just becomes ever more worthless.

Purchasing power comes from productive economic activities.

Eventually the bloated tick that is “needy people” becomes so huge compared to its host that there isn’t enough economic activity to support it. That is where whole regions of Canada already are (Maritimes, Quebec). They exist only because people and companies in other regions are working and creating value to support them.

There is a tipping point where no one can afford to work, or it’s not worthwhile. Then everyone starves.

Alberta isn’t there yet and doesn’t want to get pulled down further into just being a host for an entire nation of parasites. I am 100% not going to be taxed to death for the benefit of someone who who unironically posts this:

No offense but on what planet is Jagmeet Singh anyone’s preferred candidate? What exactly are his policies, let alone ones you support? He just seems to go along with whatever will keep him in power five more minutes.

They all derserve the noose.

How hard is it to crack down on the Injun and Sikh gangs smuggling Chink fentanyl across the border into America?

Trump's demands are entirely reasonable if you at least appear to actually listen to him and give a shit.

His main point is against big businesses and the Family Compact who privatize the profits and socialize the losses.

The Family Compact needs to end due to individuals following in 1839 footsteps / pulling a Luigi Mangione

One thing I am looking forward to is the USA coming in to compete with Canada’s cozy little monopolies, I anticipate them eating shit and getting wiped out pretty fast, leading to better cheaper services for our little market.

Until then, I am sensitive to people talking about increasing welfare levels, since the first CERB fucked up the budget (fatally if we are being honest). The idea that the libs are salivating at all the extra revenue they think will come from export tariffs so they can spread it to their cronies and clients is horrifying.

Not because I am a productive person from whom they expect to extract this (bad enough) but because they are making their decisions based on numbers that will not come to pass. I heard one LPC shill say they expect export tariffs to raise 130 billion per year.

So they actually are sucking each others’ dicks and fantasizing about how much they can skim off of this imaginary number and about to make some catastrophic decisions that will impoverish what’s left of Canada.

Edit: Here’s the clip, could I trouble one of you to archive the video for my sorry phoneposting self? Thanks

Description:Look at how excited former Trudeau advisor Tyler Meredith gets on CBCNN about collecting potential tariffs and redistributing all that revenues to favoured pet projects. Liberals will Liberal

"The government of Canada could record potentially $130 billion in revenues next year which would wipe out the deficit and would I think create an interesting question of how you recycle that in the economy"

Liberals want and are egging on this trade/tariff war with Trump @tylermeredith

Years after the creation of this thread, the words "failed state" and "Canada" have recently appeared together in mainstream media. Just FYI.

Former trade rep says Alberta undermined Canada as Trump warns of failed-state status (Global News)
Canada grows ever closer to failed state status (National Post)
Canada looks more like a failed state the longer Trudeau fails to act (The Globe and Mail)

These aren't kooky tabloids. These are some of the largest newspapers of record in Canada.
@Sweetpeaa you really nailed it 😬

2021 seems so quaint. There’s a lot of ruin in a nation, as Adam Smith once said.

I’ve said it before, I legitimately can’t afford to leave this frozen shithole larping as a country. Trust me, if I could, I would, but barring finding a literal unicorn (read - an American Woman with money and low standards) my options to get out are very limited.

Could be worse - I could be in Toronto, cause $20 Leaf Money says that’ll be ground zero for the Collapse. Until then, I’mma just enjoy watching the younger staff at my Wage Slavery up here become more and more racist regarding the ‘Jeets…

Somehow still better than what Trudeau's done

Canada has a population of 40 million people and most of the country is inhospitable sub-Arctic unsuitable for farming. Most sane people do not want to live in the sub-Arctic. More than half of Ontario is sub-Arctic, they're cramming the entirety of the Third World into Southern Ontario.

Siberia is sub-Arctic. The psycho ruling class thinks ordinary Canadians and the Third World will just move to Siberian wastelands for their delusional labour force needs.

It's time we stop mass immigration policies altogether, become more selective, end birthright citizenship, extend naturalisation to 10 years of continuous residence, and give citizenship preferences to native English and native French speakers. It's time we start acting like a matured country rather than a resource extraction colony.

While this is true, I’ve spent a few hours today watching normie Canadians posting about how D Trumph can fuck himself, we’re gonna tariff maple syrup and won’t they be sorry! And this Carney fellow seems like he’s got a good head on his shoulders, not a meanie like Pierre.

The only thing keeping me from despair is the assumption that the Canadian government is of course funding bots and push polling.

Also lol:

Im sorry bro, but unironically the average Canadian *is* this stupid.

Saying that, after a few weeks of 'wait a minute, this isnt working', theyll hopefully turn on the liberals. I say hopefully because Canadians can turn on issues, like with immigration- but only when things are beyond fucked and their own quality of life is impacted. While it sucks, the embargo may be a similar case.

My saving grace is we may be going down, but Im sure as hell not going to let these monopolies get out scratch free. Would encourage everyone to take that attitude, if they havn't already.

It is insane to think 10 years ago, Canada was a completely different country. How one prime minister could fuck up everything within less than that timeframe is so insane to me.
It wasn't just one prime minister. It was him and other people who allowed it. Bankers, powerful people that bankrolled this. All of it, designed and engineered this social collapse.
