I see a few people have responded to my earlier post where I stated why I don't believe Rekieta deliberately dosed his kid. (@Vibralldo, @Swole McPole, @Himedall All-seeing Waifu, @AltisticRight, @AnOminous, @Potentially Criminal), so I'll go over the general points. I'll also say, I'm not a doctor, not a lawyer and I'm not American but I do have experience with wackos and druggies.

TL;DR, I now believe CPS would let it slide but I don't think others would and I think neglect is the more likely explanation than deliberate dosing.

On 'wasting coke' honestly I was sorting of joking with this but I'll go into more detail.

Addicts often don't want to use alone and they often will give shit away so that they aren't the only one high. They want others to use with them so they can deny how fucked up they are.

Rekieta sharing with his wife makes sense, co-dependency is the easiest way to nurse a habit. As does with April, so Nick can live out his white slavery fantasies and you have to give something to Aaron because otherwise he harshes the mellow.

You aren't going to have fun getting high with a nine year old unless you are a sexual predator. Which is honestly the only context I can believe it happening in and I don't believe, or want to believe that's the case.

Re: CPS. Fair enough, Cps are scum, given responses I can now believe they would let it slide out of incompetence or lack of due diligence. Appreciate the replies highlighting this, I learnt something very depressing.

But what still really sticks out as implausible to me is how he'd slide that by other people. Either they're in on it, or not, I don't think either works, I'll explain why.

Let's say Rekieta got Kayla in on it. First of all, I still don't see how anyone could be talked into that. Putting that aside, if Kayla and Rekieta are both in on dosing their child, do they stop when the Imholtes come round? You'd think yes but if they honestly believe something that crazy, I think it's reasonable to believe at the very least April also knows.

If three people know a secret, it's pretty hard to keep it a secret for long. We know about April bleeding on her birthday, them getting high on galaxy gas and April talking to the kids about their sex life. Something that scandalous seems hard to keep under wraps around these morons.

Then if Rekieta is operating alone, how does he go about that? I see people suggesting he slips it in food. But, the impression I got was that Rekieta didn't do much in the feeding department. All he seemed to do was make sure iPads were charged and be a drunk taxi driver as far as I could see.

So he's cooking all the food regularly, and slipping drugs into one specific child's plate but not once to the others and nobody else sees it and starts beating him with the crockery?

I would also like to highlight some more things. I don't think the case has been made for why he would choose to do that in the first place.

The arguments I saw were:

That he believes in off-kilter medical stuff (CBD oil, chiropractors). Lots of people do, my mum believes in that and my dad the former. They've never tried slipping heroin into my dinner.

The 'medical cocaine' cope he wheeled out to Aaron. This is where my familiarity with addicts comes in. Lying is central to junkies and Rekieta is no exception. But it's not that they lie but why that matters. Addicts often use medical excuses, 'I have back pain, I have migraines, I have anxiety' so on and so on but that's to divert away attention from them having a problem. It's a lie told to others for and about themselves. I don't think it's a sincere belief in Peruvian energy supplements as a panacea. It's just an addict cope and a very common one.

He accused Aaron and that's a Freudian slip. The issue with this is that it's not taking into account he reads this thread. His guilty conscience isn't the source of the accusation, his narc inability to not let go of control is.

Finally I'll end on some more reasons I don't believe it to be true. First, addict parents are neglectful, which tracks with what we know of the household. Second, we know from Aaron that Rekieta is careless about leaving drugs out. Put those two together and the most likely outcomes seems obvious. A kid got into the coke and that dumb motherfucker is lucky she didn't die. And because the world is unjust, he may never have to answer for that.
