Yeah I hope this shit trend dies with this decade reaching its mid-point. I've heard people describe that quirky chungus Whedon-esque style of writing endemic of Marvel movies (and every piece of media that apes Marvel movies) as irony poisoned, but I just think it's infantile. Childish goo goo gaga-tier fucking garbage written by troons and manchildren who are as immature as they are unimaginative. These dinguses went on strike when they should've spent that time becoming more worldly.
The word you're looking for is "Millenial Writing"
Those thumbnails when I search "Millenial Writing" on Youtube, lmao

Preorder should be boutique physical purchases only, meaning if you want the artbook you can at least jump your ass down to the mailbox to get it. Slap another 20% upcharge on it and use the excess to pay for a QA period that lasts longer than a week.
This, the only time I ever pre-ordered was if I got something neat in either physical or digital format. Physical is obvious, as far as digital goes COD used to give out exclusive camos that nobody else would get(Rainbow Camo one in Ghosts had me being accused of hacking on more than one occasion due to how rare it is), New Vegas aside from the neat LE swag gave me the Vault 13 pack before all the pre order bonuses were bunched together into a DLC anyone could buy, and I believe there were many Gen 7 games where their was content forever locked behind a finite amount of codes you could get from pre-orders. Content that is impossible to play on new copies or accounts today.
If you give me something exclusive like that or a neat little physical trinket? Sure, I will pre order, otherwise it's down to the Pirate Bay or a third party reseller for me.

One thing I know for sure is after Veilguard that I'll never trust Steam "overall user reviews". Mostly positive my ass. If you look at most helpful reviews, they're 20 negative to 1 positive review, and even then those positive ones are fairly reluctant. I might even be generous with the ratio.

These have been fucky for a while, Steam 100% manipulates both these and the reviews themselves, deleting ones that are deemed too problematic or too overwhelmingly negative. You should definitely not take the game's frontpage on Steam at face value.

Veilguard and KCD2 are two sides of the same coin, it shows that both right and left wingers can make cringy shit when they sellout and try to appeal to people who are not the core audience.
It's actually confusing. Why would anyone be so fucking retarded that they'd suddenly lean into wokeshit at the exact time wokeshit is literally nuking studios off the planet because everyone hates it?

I mean congratulations, faggot, enjoy your suicide.

Vavra is a jew, and one in the closet from what he's saying on Twitter. He also has a brand new spanking sports car he loves showing off, bought at around the same time Embracer acquired the studio. I think you can put the pieces together.
Another explanation is that since woke shit was at it's peak when the game was being developed, they didn't consider that it will be received more poorly when it actually comes out, just like Ubisoft put Floyd-Sama into Assassins Creed Shadows back in 2020, but come 2025, nobody fucking wants him in there. Too late to take him out.

Looks like the beginning of the end for BioWare:

They’re moving the useful people out of the studio.
They have given up on Bioware and decided spending too much effort is a waste of time and money?
They will salvage the useful people by moving them to a safe place in other parts of EA and then they will just completely shutdown whatever remains of Bioware and everyone remaining at that studio.

Basically what I got from the article and other discussions online, Bioware has done dick all in terms of pre-production for ME5 because they can only handle one game at a time, so now they're shifting people to work on other stuff until there's more to ME5 than just a nebulous concept.

Larian makes good rpg games, because at the end of the day, they know players wanna roleplay.

Larian just makes games that gives you the freedom.

If only bioware took notes
The role play aspect of their games is good, but at least for me, I have always been insanely bored by the actual gameplay of their stuff, be it the divinity original sin games or Baldur’s Gate, they just aren’t interesting and their combat usually sucks. And I’m saying that as someone who considered turn based RPGs to be his favorite genre
