What’s your point? ICE came in and detained a bunch of people right as orange season is picking up. Farmers don’t have time to do some visa program bullshit lol. That’s why I saw a bunch of help wanted signs on the 99 today.

This isn’t normal. The deportations are already having a tangible effect.
Did you scroll down to the “emergency” tab? They have an “emergency” tab that provides the form to apply for expedited migrant workers

It’s bullshit that you’re going to pretend Mexicans can’t work on farms here unless they illegally cross a border. You go try to illegally cross a border and tell me what happens to you.

Whoever is the ATC person that screwed up better hope there's no good ol' Soviet Russians out there. They'll come kill you about be awarded medal, like my avatar level.

Vitaly Konstantinovich Kaloyev (Russian: Виталий Константинович Калоев, IPA: [vʲɪˈtalʲɪj kənstɐnʲˈtʲinəvʲɪtɕ kɐˈlojɪf]; Ossetian: Калоты Къостайы фырт Витали, romanized: Kaloty Qostaiy fyrt Vitali, IPA: [kɑloˈtə qostɑˈjə ˈfərt viˈtɑli]; born 15 January 1956) is a Russian former architect and convicted murderer who was found guilty of the premeditated killing of an air traffic controller after his family died aboard BAL Bashkirian Airlines Flight 2937, which collided with DHL International Aviation ME Flight 611 over Überlingen, Germany, on 1 July 2002.

Later, after his release from prison, Kaloyev was appointed deputy minister of construction of North Ossetia–Alania. In 2016, upon retirement from the local Ossetian government, Kaloyev was awarded the highest regional medal by that government, the medal "To the Glory of Ossetia". The medal is awarded for the highest achievements, improving the living conditions of the inhabitants of the region, for educating the younger generation and maintaining law and order.
Christ, everything about that story is heartbreaking for everyone involved.

Any pilots in here? Just how "experienced" are you by 500-1000 hours of flight time? I can imagine a good amount of that is taken by basic training alone.
You're right that's considered "basic" training. This may seem strange to people unfamiliar with the aviation industry, but 500 hours is considered getting your feet wet when it comes to commercial flying. For good reason too, as you don't want someone fucking up and killing hundreds of people on a plane. Its not a job where you can just get trained and hop on. That is unless you're a DEI hire, or have connections (nepotism is great guys)

Johhny Bravo just ninja'd me as I typed out the answer on what it takes to get the certification. Her getting the job at only 500 hours even if just a co-pilot seems like DEI shit to me. They don't care if you have the certification because that is the bare minimum, they care about your hours, and what you did during those hours.

Most airlines will point at the door if you show up with less than 850-1000 hours, with the most competitive ones requiring 1500+ (although the entire industry is relaxing requirements regardless of DEI) hopefully they aren't/won't go much lower now.

Seeing liberals blaming Trump for egg prices skyrocketing. Question for you guys, were egg prices already expensive to begin with? How exactly would Trump (who has been in office for a week and a half) some how be that fast to raise egg prices? Yet the same liberals will tell you that economic policies take years to kick in and that's why when Trump first took office they were praising Obama's policies for the good economy. So which is it?
Bird flu, right around the summer time millions of egg laying birds were ordered to be killed. This has raised prices of everything that uses eggs ie a lot of food stuff through the roof. The similar thing occurred 2 years ago when there was a feed issue causing mass sterility in chickens.
This smells fishy like 2 people in a garage did this to fuck with people.

It’s on the ATC to issue orders. You don’t ask a fucking pilot’s opinion if they’re safe or not, you enforce rules
There was a departing plane right in line of sight of the helicopter so when asked "if you can see the plane" there is one plane the helicopter pilot can clearly see and it isn't the one that was crashed into. Just a disaster all around.

This exact situation of poor visual guidance and overcrowded airspace has been brought up at the senate level for this airport specifically because of the sheer amounts of near miss incidents in the last few years.

I would guess they are going to shut down some level of air traffic here and move it to the much larger Dulles International Airport. There shouldn't be a runway where you are descending directly into a well traveled military helicopter path it's just asking for accidents to happen.

There are help wanted signs in front of farms along the freeways in the California Central Valleys. I am crying.
Damn, they gonna have to hire white boys to pick dem crops and treat them with human rights and sheet. I personally know a Californian farmer that is 99% seething over this. I warned you bitch! People are replaceable my ass! No more slaves for you.

You know who could see all the planes? The person looking at a computer screen with all the transponder numbers

I rarely buy eggs these days because of the Biden years. I simply live with the pain of inflation.

Thing is, I didn't vote for Trump to make things better for myself. I voted for him to hurt those who have hurt me economically. They covet power above all, and I want them denied that power.

I think that the military standards are different because you aren't flying jumbo jets patched together with electrical tape carrying 300+ people whose families can sue the shit out of you. Either way, yeah, 500 hours ain't shit. I would not be surprised if this woman got the job because she was a woman and, unfortunately, had a woman moment.

Nigger I’m literally just sharing facts with you. I’m sure these farmers are making use of whatever resources are available to them but it’s a literal fact that people are getting deported and that farms are putting up help wanted signs because they need workers NOW and the signs aren’t in Spanish.

I'm not a pilot, but you need at least 250 hours to get your license and usually around 1500 to be a commercial pilot. I have no idea what military standards are but, given the last 4 years, I imagine they're quite low.
1500 to be a commercial pilot and we have 1000 on record here. There was no instructor there either, was there?

So we can pretty much confirm that these were likely DEI hires, correct?

You were sharing “I’m crying over this”

You’re trying to emotionally manipulate people like a leftist bitch.

I’ve never illegally crossed a border, know why? Cause I don’t want to be fucking jailed for an indeterminate amount of time and charged with a crime.

gun guns and more guns

By The Associated Press
BATON ROUGE, La. — A U.S. appeals court on Thursday ruled against a federal law requiring young adults to be 21 to buy handguns, finding it violated the Second Amendment.

The ruling, handed down by a panel of three judges on the conservative U.S. 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans, comes amid major shifts in the national firearm legal landscape following a landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision that expanded gun rights in 2022.

The court found that people aged 18-to-20 should not be prohibited from buying guns.

“Ultimately, the text of the Second Amendment includes eighteen-to-twenty-year-old individuals among ‘the people’ whose right to keep and bear arms is protected,” the court wrote in their ruling. The ruling sends the case back to a lower court judge.

In the past, the appeals court has upheld the age restriction. However, since the Supreme Court’s ruling that said firearm restrictions must be rooted in the nation’s historical traditions, judges in states like Minnesota, Virginia and Texas have struck down similar laws.

The Biden administration had fought those rulings. It is uncertain exactly how the Trump administration might proceed, but he told an NRA audience during last year’s campaign that “no one will lay a finger on your firearms.”
The Supreme Court, meanwhile, decided to keep a federal gun law on the books last year. The high court overturned a different ruling from the 5th Circuit and upheld a law intended to protect victims of domestic violence.

Those challenging the ban included the Firearms Policy Coalition, the Second Amendment Foundation and the Louisiana Shooting Association. “If we can trust young adults to defend our country, we can certainly trust them to own any and all legal firearms,” said Alan Gottlieb, founder of the Second Amendment Foundation

Federal law requires a person to be 21 to purchase a handgun from a licensed firearm dealer and 18 to buy a long gun from a dealer, according to Everytown for Gun Safety. There is an 18-year-old minimum for handgun purchases from unlicensed sellers and no minimum age for long guns, according to the group’s research.

The Giffords Law Center called the decision reckless and said age restrictions help prevent violence. “We hope the current law will be ultimately upheld,” legal director David Pucino said.
