While I normally localize terms in my translations for Kiwi Farms, such as turning "Grundgesetz" into "constitution", or "Bundestag" into "federal parliament", I intentionally abstain from doing that in this OP. I will make liberal use of German terms for the sake of accuracy in conveying the content and information to international readers. A glossary of terms and abbreviations is found here for your convenience:
  • AfD = Alternative für Deutschland (alternative for Germany), political party founded in 2013
  • Bundestag = federal parliament
  • Bundesverfassungsgericht = federal constitutional court, similar to the USA Supreme Court
  • CDU = Christlich-Demokratische Union (Christian democratic union), left-centrist political party with the majority of federal chancellors in the history of Germany
  • Grundgesetz = lit. "Basic Law", constitution of the Federal Republic of Germany
  • Karlsruhe = city in Germany, seat of the Bundesverfassungsgericht
  • NPD = Nationaldemokratische Partei Deutschlands (national democratic party of Germany), right-wing political party. Famously and infamously, a prohibition process against the NPD has failed before.
  • NSDAP = Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (national socialist German workers' party), literal Nazis
  • OVG = abbreviation "Oberverwaltungsgericht", upper administrative court
  • SPD = Sozialdemokratische Partei Deutschlands (social democratic party of Germany), left-wing political party with the second-most federal chancellors in the history of Germany
  • Reichstag = the name of the building in which the Bundestag sessions are held
  • Verfassungsschutz = Office for the Protection of the Constitution, basically the interior intelligence agency, similar to the USA FBI

On Thursday, January 30 2025, the Bundestag held a session discussing two separate proposals to initiate a prohibition procedure against the AfD in Germany. Such a proposition may be submitted to the Bundesverfassungsgericht by either the Bundestag, the federal government, or the Federal Council.

Weren't the only German political parties ever to be banned before now NSDAP and the German Communist Party?
 
I'd say I hope the AfD supporters burn down the fucking government for suppressing their political will, but we all know modern Germans are too weak and Eurocucked to ever revolt against anything, so have fun with a thousand years of neoliberal tyranny.

Oh cool what does the territorial integrity of Ukraine have to do with the alternative for Germany also a true German nationalist would want Danzig in the Polish court or return to them because it's right for German territory and then to danzig 100% belongs to germany

I’m so glad I could visit Germany a decade+ ago, before it was totally ruined. I don’t see how anyone can seriously have any hope for that country.

AfD is trending towards 23% in the polls so I thought they were going to speedrun a ban before the snap elections.

Not the NSDAP itself, that one was banned by the Allies during military occupation but rather the so-called Socialist Reich Party, an intended successor founded by some former party members. Was banned in 1952 by the german parliament, the communist party shared the same fate four years later.
But at no point did any of these parties account for about 20% of the entire vote much less over 30% in some states.
Actually banning a party with that kind of influence and depriving millions of already disgruntled germans of any illusion of actually influencing the political decision making process in this country could get really, really interesting...

Why is it that France became the punching bag of Europe when the Germans are infinitely more contemptible by every metric? At least the French are willing to burn shit down when the farmers get upset and execute their aristocracy.

Maybe they were just worried about provoking the Germans back into their old ways again. Better to ignore them in the cuck chair of "Corrected" nations.

I am not exaggerating when I say that the politicians of Germany would rather sacrifice all firstborn, secondborn, dustborn, and thirdborn in Germany and destroy the economy of Germany for the future 3000 years if it means avoiding being seen as right wing. Not even far right, just "right wing"

I recommend that you always mentally insert a note saying "Jewish humiliation ritual" whenever you read anything about German politics
Things become so much more reasonable and predictable in that context
