So much fun.

"What can I say that wouldn't seem trite?" At least he didn't give them the whole of the St. Crispian's Day speech from Henry V again.

I'm seeing why Olly wasn't initially invited to that 12-hour Breadtube trans charity stream, he always makes it worse. (Did he ever show up after he tried to invite himself?).

Also - those audition tweets. Even the smallest most struggling actor would post "audition today!" or something - not "hahahaha I'm going to have fun reading these lines!!". You wouldn't think this was someone who had been in a few mainstream things. It's not professional but also just odd.

Do normal people really wonder whether a modern day concept that nobody seems to be able to define anymore can be applied to long dead philosophers?
People do when they think their movement is The Right Side of History and thus everything beforehand needs to be retroactively evaluated under their current standards.

It's very embarrassing. I know a few actors and none of them ever make regular announcements about all the auditions they go to. No one outside this thread cares about his auditions.

Troons and their violent fantasies never surprise me anymore. I just assume this what most of them really think.

Okay, obviously he just thinks he is being funny, but I still see no reason why anyone would click on this video.
It's a clickbaity title for that very reason I think, as is the choice of juxtaposing Jordan Peterson and Hitler in the thumbnail.

Potentially more off-putting is Olly's face:

Looks very creepy and plastic. Reminds me of '90s-era Michael Jackson (but more masculine). Such a stupid expression too, like he's just smelled a fart.

Wow, that's rough. Like the bullied kid at school who didn't get invited to the birthday party. Begging to be included in a public post, not even a DM - not a good look.
More like the kid that nobody likes. If anything, he's the bully.

Nah. Like most actors trying to make it, he auditions for way more roles than he actually gets. It's normal for the industry (plus Olly is a narc, and doesn't want people to perceive him as unsuccessful) . And his social media seems to be for the purpose of schmoozing, and PR.

When he posts about his 'pitches' it's different. If they fail, it is still positive PR. Being a writer adds a certain 'cache' to his profile; demonstrates that he is hardworking, productive and committed to the industry; as well as subtly reminding people that he is a published Playwright.

He's pretty savvy and knows how to self-promote. Plus, I'll bet anything that each and every rejection, whilst common in is his chosen profession, is going to deal him a heavy blow each time it happens, and I doubt it's something he will ever get completely comfortable with. Rejection is very much a chink in his armour, which is partly why he's so good at spinning things to his advantage. Plus he has a social media manager.

Edited for grammar (several times)

That's true actually and he really is a bully even now as an adult.

Regarding telling the world about his auditions, that has nothing to do with PR. He just wants to impress his fans.

Did anyone see what he did in the Lily Alexandre video that he begged to be included in?

I think earlier in the thread there are some quotes from him about his time in the CCF, where he talks about his time as a Sergeant, and admits to being a bit of a bully. I've searched the thread using various keywords, but can't find the exact quote. @AfghanBlue - was this something you posted?

He strikes me as someone who either didn't get enough attention as a kid and resents it, or a kid who got everything he wanted. Perhaps a combination of both.

Doesn't surprise me at all, this side of his character comes out all the time in his Tumblr posts and elsewhere.

Probably both in the sense that I'm sure he was doted on to some extent but disliked having to share his parents' love with his siblings. That's my guess.

The second one in particular is fucking terrifying:

Can't be bothered to actually read the thing, but this is an interesting new tactic (new to me anyway) from TRAs - instead of pretending that detransitioners don't exist, they're now claiming that they've actually been fighting for their rights this whole time:

The description on the second is "Same tbh." Kinda fits with a lot of his selfies, really.

It appears to argue that detransitioning is in fact another form of transitioning. Though maybe that's giving it more credit than it deserves. The opening paragraph.

It's by a gender-poisoned woman, so no wonder it makes no sense.

I think not being asked back would be extremely beneficial to Toob. Toob would start a campaign around HBO doing it to appease the right-wing trolls, rather than for Toobs terrible performance and try to get as much publicity as possible.
It wouldn't be beneficial in the long term I think, because it would negatively affect his chances of getting cast in the future. That would be a major black mark on his résumé and he would be much less likely to get auditions if he started causing a headache for HBO on social media. And I doubt he'd be able to whip up much sympathy because anyone can see that he's not a good actor.

There's a lot of actors/actresses who've been blacklisted for having legitimate grievances that they've taken public, much less someone trying to start a smear campaign. Choob isn't stupid - he knows trying to do that wouldn't be beneficial. Add that people behind the scenes love nothing more than gossip and quite quickly he'd be known as an untalented troublemaker whose not worth the headache.

The only way he'd turn against them in public would be if he gave up on his "acting" career altogether. That's why I sort of wonder if these odd posts are just his passive-aggressive response to not hearing back from them. He might still be in it, but they might not exactly see him as a high-priority to get signed early on. But it would explain his "I'm doing AUDITIONS and SETTING UP TOTALLY REAL PLANS for the future, so I might not be FREE for LONG" posts.
