I don't think you can blame the mid-air collision on DEI. ATC repeatedly ask PAT25 if they had the CRJ in sight and to maintain visual separation, which takes it out of the controller's hands. the only mistake i can see right now is the helicopter was flying at 300-350 feet which is above the 200 feet fight ceiling for that part of the helicopter corridor.

What likely happened is the Helo pilots either:
  • mistook another plane for the CRJ (DC is incredibly busy airspace at any hour day or night)
  • mistook ground lights as the CRJ
  • Saw the correct CRJ but due to NVG's messing with depth perception mis read the situation
it also has to be mentioned that picking out the landing lights and marker lights of a aircraft against the ground clutter and lights of a city is very hard. especially if the plane is not moving against the background in the horizontal. at the time of collision the plane would have appeared stationary to the helo pilots because it was heading almost directly towards them. the pilots of the CRJ could not see the helo at all because it would have been below them and to their right.

I think the real problem here is having a helicopter flight corridor in the final descent pattern of a major airport, and with the ever increasing number of aircraft in the skies across the whole world this was a disaster waiting to happen. not even 24 hours before this incident a similar one happened in the exact same place, but because the airliner was still above 1000 feet the TCAS (traffic collision avoidance system) was still engaged and alerted the airliner to perform evasive manuevers.

below 1000 feet TCAS is disabled because it would give constant warnings from tall buildings and trees etc. the collision happened at 350-400 feet.
I think people don't necessarily understand that picking out traffic in the sky is not exactly easy and while it's a little easier at night because of the nav lights, it's still difficult. There's also a lot of airplanes moving around the airport and keeping up with all of them mentally is only going to add to the pilot's workload.

So...
A). It's night, so you're using a completely different set of visual organs to see on top of having to ensure that you don't lose your night vision which is already difficult enough because you're next to a bright ass city. NVGs would make this even more difficult.
B). There are a lot of lights and a lot of airplanes and finding the right airplane in a sea of airplanes is a big ask and in doing that, you're adding to your workload and consequently reducing situational awareness.
C). I had to look up the chart and I'm honestly surprised that there's a helicopter route there at all, but I don't fly helicopters so maybe it made sense at some point.
D). The PSA crew could literally do nothing and had not idea what was going to happen because why would a helicopter be in your blind spot when you're 15-20 seconds from the missed approach point. The last thing they were probably thinking was about how they were going to set up the touchdown and what crosswind corrections needed to be made, if any.

What I'm wondering is how are the aviation regulations going to change as a result of this? I might not even annotate changes in my book this time, I might just throw the whole book out and buy another one or move to the 21st century and keep a digital copy on my ipad.

I provide almost no links because you should do your own homework.:
>educate yourself, shitlord
No. If you make the claim, you're the one to back it up.
You've already planted your flag on the claim that slavery wasn't bad, so what motivation could you possibly have for denying that the South seceded to protect it?
I'm not a "Lost Causer" and I've said that slavery is terrible for the economy, going as far to label it as "economic incest". If the only way you can handle criticism is with blanket labels, than I can tell it's gonna be pissing up ropes arguing with you. As for my motivation, it's the same one I had with MLK Jr years before the files were finally released, confirming exactly what I was saying for years: the truth.

Wait, it's been confirmed, beyond a doubt, that China was completely responsible for COVID? Is this a bigger story and I'm just not hearing about it? If there's undeniable proof that they were behind that shit, it should be blowing up, right? How much of the world economy got fucked over because of lockdowns oh wait thats right everybody, and all I'm hearing is a short blurb from the White House about this?

This should be massive. The whole world should be looking to impose tariffs and sanctions against the yellow niggers. 10%? These fucks need to get slammed with 75, 80% tariffs. The fucking niggers played off all responsibility, welded their own populace into apartment buildings, mass-cremated bodies to cover this shit up, paid of the World Health Organization to downplay it's spread, and we're supposed to gloss over this shit when it comes out that they're at fault?

Ruin gook niggers. Devalue gook nigger currency. Roundhouse kick a gook nigger's economy. Slice an effigy of Winnie the Pooh with a katana.

The problem with that is Fauci and his pals were almost certainly involved. Why do you think he was pardoned? China can probably just say it was a co-op with USA, and true or not it wouldn't matter much. Most would believe it.

Asmongold's uploads tomorrow, and yeah I know, are gonna be pretty wild for what's going on.

Everyone already knew about it, but now it's safe to openly talk about it. Remember, there is a reason "Doctor" Fauci got a pardon.

Oh, so you want sources, but you're not going to read them? No wonder you think secession had nothing to do with slavery; you've never actually read any sources.
>doesn't like it when his own standards are applied to him
Well, that explains a lot.

But sure, you want a source? How's Abe Lincoln's own speech?

My dude, anything is better than the soul crushing reality of this cold dark rock we live on. Ruled by the most depraved sons of bitches ever. We are basically rats running in mazes for the entertainment of old ballsacks that call themselves human. This is a sick world with virtually no mental healthcare, and what there is, is boiling vomit.
Go take a hike. Literally, go out in the woods, breath the oxygen-rich air, see the beauty of nature, let your brain enjoy the reward cycles from successfully pathfinding and navigating whatever obstacles you come across. It's the best way to get emotionally centered and feel properly human.

Failing that, do the needful and stop bothering us with your doomerism.

Any give a qrd on what Trump getting elected in 2016 felt like? (I wasn't that interested in politics back then) I heard the main difference between then and now is that it legit felt out of the blue. Like, no one expected Michigan and Pennsylvania to flip.
On the Trump Train since 2015, I wasn't on from the start just because I'm old enough to remember his previous "runs," but I lurked on a forum of gay racist huwhite bodybuilders and eventually we all realized he was serious this time. First thing I did was pick of the Art of the Deal to get some idea of how he operated. Then I think I came pretty close to get written out of the will by my parents, who were Zodiac Killer supporters. Family stuff got tense, I can still remember the deflated look in my mom's eyes when I called that closeted Mormon glowie faggot "Egg McMuffin." Good times. I worked morning shift, so the night of the election I slept through the afternoon, woke up to Trump doing well and watched the Methnostate flip red in real time, watched Trump memes for a few hours after. As someone who, stupidly, followed politics in the 90s as a teenager, watching Hillary get shut down was like a weight lifting from my shoulders. I had a few quiet Trump supporting co-workers, we were all relieved but knew to keep our heads down at first.

The energy this time around was very different. It was all super high energy shit posting and meme magic and sort of light, happy warrior stuff the first time around. I can forgive the channers for believing they memed Trump into office, watching the establishment getting trashed by shitposters was magic.

This is the thing I don't get about doomers. This right here. If things are really as bad as you say, why don't you Luigi's Mansion it up and blue shell somebody in Mario Kart.

Or hell, take out as many credit cards as you can, max them out in some foreign country on cocaine and whores. Live a little.

The prevalence of doomerism speaks loads about how docile we've become as people. Just completely comfortably numb with our mentals, bitter enough to doompost on a chilean pepper-growing forum, but not brave enough to get out there and even try to make a change.

Or, y'know, grind a little, try and improve your own life measurably in the small increments you can control instead of worrying about the ad infinitum things you can't. Make your bed, things like that.
Doomerism is just demoralization in action. Say what you will about Yuri, he was right about that, and having been demoralized in my life about other things before it's a fucking hard thing to break out. Goes hand in hand with learned helplessness a lot of times. Sometimes I think the only way out of it is to bottom out, don't get filtered by Nihilism, and start the long climb back out of the abyss. Gotta to imagine Sisyphus happy.

But yes, part of that is using agency in the places in your life you can control. Clean you room, make your bed, wash your penis, etc.

When people talk about "things" in regards to the world like this, what specifically are they talking about?

To elaborate a bit more on this, when I was visiting family we had a party and stayed up late into the night talking and drinking around the fire. We had almost every generation there. Boomer, Gen X, early Millennial (myself), and Gen Z. I brought up the line from the Sopranos where Tony said "It's good to be in something from the ground floor, and I came too late for that, I know. But lately I've been getting a feeling that I came at the end. The best is over" and how I kind of feel that way with America. How I got in at the very end and managed to catch the last gasps of the prosperity and feeling that the previous generations enjoyed. All the mystery is gone in the world. We're constantly tied to our phones and technology. Any mistake we make will follow us FOREVER. There's not restarting somewhere else from scratch. Most parents these days raise their kids on tablets and TV. Even in neighborhoods with lots of kids, they aren't running around outside every weekend and during the summers. There aren't big families anymore where you are all close in age and really bond with your siblings. All the white people now have one kid or two spaced out so far that they never really develop strong relationships. My grandfather used to be able to support a stay at home wife and four children on a military salary. My mom was able to put herself through college working nights at a cocktail bar and not go I to massive debt for the privilege. I think everyone alive on some level knows that something is very wrong and it's driving us all slowly insane. Look at the levels of SSRI use, the shocking levels of mental illness being reported in women, the mass shootings, etc, etc. TL,DR shit sucks and idk of it will ever get better.

I was in the lounge on a college campus cackling with laughter watching 538 update and all the students around me wailing. It was a wonderful night.
I still played WoW at that point and my guild was mostly Canadians. We were doing a mythic dungeon and I was laughing the whole time as results came in.

It's been said before, but holding on to hate will age you, big time. Constantly being angry and tense, always looking for offenses and microagressions, putting yourself in a victim mentality 24/7 takes its toll outside and in. Some people thrive on hate but it's usually someone who benefits from it--grifters, politicians, media, etc. Regular people who refuse to be happy and have a constant diet of everything's bad/nothing's good and remain that way are going to succumb to the stress--illness, premature aging, mental breakdowns.
