Philosophy Tube / Oliver Lennard / Oliver "Olly" Thorn / Abigail Thorn - Breadtube's Patrick Bateman.

Do normal people really wonder whether a modern day concept that nobody seems to be able to define anymore can be applied to long dead philosophers?
It's the same as the dumb shit they do with '[old famous person] was actually super problematic and racist' but then their opinions are just the normal opinions at the period of time they existed in.

Either that or they try to claim they were secretly a black woman. I'm not sure what the criteria is for deciding who gets which.

I think earlier in the thread there are some quotes from him about his time in the CCF, where he talks about his time as a Sergeant, and admits to being a bit of a bully. I've searched the thread using various keywords, but can't find the exact quote. @AfghanBlue - was this something you posted?

He strikes me as someone who either didn't get enough attention as a kid and resents it, or a kid who got everything he wanted. Perhaps a combination of both.
2019 interview -
Did you enjoy high school?
Loathed it! In fairness I did make it harder on myself than it needed to be: I was a very angry kid, quick to flare up and resolutely opposed to giving anyone (including myself) an inch of slack. Misery loves company, so of course I joined the Army Cadets and spent five years terrorising anyone unfortunate enough to be put under my command. I joke, but "toxic masculinity" doesn't even begin to cover what I had in those teenage days.

We’ll talk about that in a bit! Why were you so angry, you think?
I'm not sure. Maybe it was something to do with being the youngest, or being picked on, maybe I wasn't really any angrier than any other teenager and just went into environments that drew it out, like cadets.

Did you want to kill people? Were you interested in the army because of politics?
There's so much more to a soldier's job than killing people, so truth be told I didn't really think about that bit too much during the phase when I thought I might join up, I was focused on the adventure and the challenge and the camaraderie aspects. Same with politics; at that stage I didn't think about it much.
He was angry and didn't give anyone "an inch of slack", and "terrorised" anyone under his command. The whole interview is a bit of a depressing insight; he was the mediocre kid from a family of overachievers - one who realised that and worked really really hard to try and get validation from his family, his teachers, comedians, actors etc while taking it out on his actual peers. Which does set the tone for his narcy behaviour (that sort of inferiority complex masked by grandiosity is textbook narc) and also his constant brown nosing while looking down on his actual fans.

"Boycotting legacy media" is all well and good if you've got some alternate method of reaching the masses. But is the alternative is stepping into your bubble where they're thought policied and screeched at and asked to watch a rugby lad dressed as a latex nun pontificate... then they're going to disengage.

The issue is that Ollie claims going on these shows is validating the gender criticals, but refusing to go on the show doesn't mean they're invalidated. They still just do the show, but then they're unopposed. The show runners are probably quite happy about it because then they can go "we asked multiple trans people and they all refused, so here's Kathleen Stock talking about her perspective while we mostly agree with her". The reaction normies get isn't "oh, the trans people are boycotting her, she must be awful", they go "these people are scared to try and defend their arguments against her, she must have some really incisive arguments" and then they get convinced. Refusing to participate in any sort of legacy debate as a matter of principle just means your principles stay undefended.

Although in Ollie's case, that's just a handy cop out that means he doesn't need to worry about tanking in a debate and has an excuse to focus on his acting.

You know that they are boycotting only because they get their ass whooped by terfs, and an average viewer probably won't sympathize with troons.
There is a zero chance that narc troons like Olly wouldn't love to own chuds in front of a huge audience when given a chance.

And this is a beautiful thing❤️

Just like with narcissistic abuse, when the other person stands up for themselves and refuses to react to gaslighting and manipulation, the abuser becomes powerless.

Olly never wants to debate anyway, he can't. He's smart enough to just never do it and instead just pretend 'legacy media' is begging him to.

Holy moly. That was worse than I remembered. I bet he's an absolutely bloody nightmare to work for. Thanks for digging that out.

I need all of you here to witness this TikTok.

Nobody is exempt.
Imagine you are someone who really had to live through a war or flee from actual persecution and then you have to watch this tranny nonsense of self inflicted "hardship" while they are willingly poisoning their own bodies with cross-sex hormones. When will this clown world finally end?
