Canada is a failed state

I'm rooting that there is an actual economic disaster and social unrest so the canucks stop being faggots and actually elect a chud who is willing to deport the jeets.
Speaking of Leafistani Politics, good lord there’s some wagon circling going on - family who actually still watches TV are getting annoyed that every third ad seems to be an attack ad against Polliveire. Granted its family that vote NDP, but they’re even pissed at Singh for “destroying the party” so they’re at least starting to catch on…

The Liberals can’t even talk up anything good they’ve done, because it’s all drowned out by Trudy’s various scandals, if it hasn’t outright backfired as far as Joe Public is concerned.

So it's pretty much no different than the 2024 Biden and Harris campaigns, as their only selling points are troon rights, abortions, and "I'M NOT PMURT!"

The fact there's as little vigilante justice as there is is frankly impressive.
Note that a lot of Canada has organized crime brazenly being done. A lot of places in my town have straight up illegal casinos being advertised and such. The Triads are very powerful, I fear them more than the police.

Again it's worth noting that crackheads are mostly harmless should you have situational awareness. Every time I go to downtown major city I am astonished that people just walk around mindlessly with headphones on. I've seen these droids bump into poles. Nobody says good morning when walking down the street. Eye contact with the art hoe paying $4000 a month in rent studying brainrot freaks out if you accidentally look in her direction. Canadians are not nice people and I can't blame them either.

Don't they realise the sheer economic and population imbalance between Canada and American?
No, unironically, at least not in the sense that it's a real factor in politics.

The average Canadian's understanding of politics, especially geopolitics, is that it's something like sitting at a big table with your first grade class while a teacher is present. They think being "nice" has value. They think being "morally right" has value. They genuinely think that America is a big meanie head with a stupid cheeto president and the whole world will protect Canada because they're the kid getting bullied, and then it'll turn out like some stupid episode of Degrassi or whatever where Trump gets humiliated and is forced to apologize at the end and learns a lesson about why you should always respect other people. They are like that one stupid fucking kid in grade school who would be very annoying and moralize to everyone about everything, then run to the teacher whenever other kids would tell him to fuck off. That's Canadians, politically.

They are completely delusional, and it's how we got into this mess. At some point, both the government and the people started to believe their own bullshit. This country is a political echo chamber, and Trump just kicked the door in. Unfortunately for the members, there are no reddit mods who can ban him.

It's crazy how many people try to tell me we have RICO-style laws only to look into it themselves and realize we don't.

They really forgot the reason why Canada always had a ridiculously large Army in relation to its actual population size. It wasn't because Canada wanted to grandstand on the global stage and help Britain fight its wars. It was because it had to share a continent with a very large and occasionally very dangerous beast. The US and Canada/British Canada have not fought a war since 1812, but it has come close a couple of times. Canadian policy since independence has been to be accommodating and respectful while never showing its back.

It's worked really well. One would have thought Trudeau would have been taught by his dad, but then I remember his dad is Cuban...

Canada is a totally failed state and not just because of Trudeau.

Its political system is poorly designed and only works when "good" people run it as there are few checks and balances on a tyrant such as Trudeau.

Some examples:

1. There are no property rights in Canada

2. All rights - speech, association, belief - are subject to a clause that the government can revoke them if they think it necessary

3. The courts are weak and have the ability to "read in" extensions to the various laws never envisioned by the original writers of the bill, without oversight or need to go back to legislature

4. As Trudeau has demonstrated - along with others - Law can be enforced via Orders in Council without oversight and virtually no recourse, even through the courts

5. There are built in rights ascribed to certain regions, notably Quebec, which gives them effectively veto on things they do not like

6. There are interprovincial barriers and tariffs between provinces and many professions cannot practice in another province without relicensing.,

7. Significant differences in representation with a very small province having 4 representatives for only 160,000 people versus (worst case - Alberta) having about 120,000 per representative.

8. The government structure has no effective means to represent regional variations in the manner of the US senate. Canada's senate are lifetime political appointments who do little but obstruct and as of this time, almost entirely appointed by Trudeau.

9. Canada has been mooching off of the US military for 50+ years to the point where it has no meaningful way of protecting itself.

10. The Federal role versus Provincial roles are generally not observed as written in the founding documents, in fact, are regularly trampled on by Trudeau and are becoming meaningless.

11. It has no national identity and I would argue there are at least 5 disparate, virtually incompatible cohorts which are geographically spread across the country: the Maritimes, Quebec, Central Canada (Ontario), the West and Indigenous peoples. There is zero chance of those cohorts getting together and reshaping the country in any meaningful way, as there is no core identity - other than "Not American"

Canada has been a failure on almost every dimension.
- It is next to the largest market in the world and has an open border with it
- It has natural resources which are close to limitless
- It has been untouched by war or conflict since 1812
- It has had the luxury of lavish spending on social programs due in no small part to not needing to cater for its own defence
- it has an easy "sell" of resources to the USA which brings in lots of money without the kind of efforts that smaller, less blessed countries (like the Netherlands) have had to undertake just to develop a high standard of living.

....and it places "average" on almost every economic dimension,

So, it ends up being beholden to the Americans, all the while arrogantly proclaiming their superiority. Well, if the idiots in charge had built the East/West pipelines, made a taxation system that does not drive out its best and brightest to the USA, removed inter-country barriers and leveraged the regional capabilities, did not regulate and legislate enormous barriers against investment...well..

You would not be in the position you are in, firmly clutching your ankles and pretending you can fight Trump.

Buncha losers....time for Canada to break up.

D.

That has only been true during each world war. Previous to that it was mostly militia units made up of locals, barely trained and barely equipped. Even to the beginning of the 2th century, regiments had to be founded and paid for by a sponsor. Like the Lord Strathcona's Horse being the most famous of these.

I'm not looking forward to the tidal wave of illegal migrants coming up from America to try their luck here as ICE does their thing.

Up until now in Canada 'home invasion' was a crime that was largely off-the-table. But I'm pretty sure with niggers and latinos arriving en masse, it'll become part of the menu.
