Long ass post from Alex, why he thinks he's original.
TL;DR: He hates Yandere school and his fans will probably start a witch hunt because of that.
I think I've mentioned the Yandev paradox before, which is my belief that any commercially viable ideas Eva has are not original, and any original ideas he has are not commercially viable.

Eva's one of the worst game designers I've seen and that's not a statement I make lightly. He doesn't think game design through with his brain, but with his dick. There's nothing inherently wrong with that as long as you're honest about what you're doing, but clearly that's not the case here. He keeps bringing up the most ridiculous and unfitting ideas and I'm sure that if you'd ask him anything about the antepieces or pacing or formal/dramatic elements in his game you'd just get a blank stare.

Let them. They bring outside attention to this thread and this site in general. It's like a 1:1 exchange ratio - for every autistic wannabe ween that comes here to try and troll us, one current or former fan comes here and joins us.

I'm not sure if I count as a proper fan, but I've been following "Yanderedev" since 2015. I was excited for the game, but since it's never gonna happen I might as well grab some popcorn and watch this mess as it unfolds. Hi! (I'm not really familiar with this site, so I'm sorry if this is a kiwi faux-pas.)

If this guy actually puts in actual effort in his game, tries to understand his fanbase better and sees what they want, tries to make original content, then I would have some sympathy for him because let's face it, it sucks to have your game stolen if you put in a lot of effort.

But since this guy doesn't really put in effort and just complains about Twitch (smallest violin issue tbh), especially that it doesn't help that the forums on Yandere School's Greenlight page pointed out what's wrong with YandereDev in general, this won't go well for him.

Also if his fans actually got it removed from Greenlight, I would love to see some hypocrisy controversy about this considering that this is far tamer than Hatred, which once got removed from Greenlight.

God, that latest comment from Eva disgusted me. And some of the comments made it worse.

It's ridiculous how they repeatedly cry "RIP-OFF! GET THAT SHIT AWAY, THAT'S A FUCKING RIP-OFF", yet they don't say the same for Meme Simulator.

Rip-offs have been a part of every game developer's life, and they stood quiet about it. I expected Eva to stay quiet about this, until I saw that comment. Heck, is this how a professional game developer should act? Say that it disgusts you and expect your fans to support you? Wow, the painstaking irony.

Some people has also stated to report the game, since apparently it's copyright infringement. Boohoo, as if Eva invented and patented the Yandere concept himself.

Don't act as if your game is more superior than any other stealth game you know, Eva. You're looking like an idiot.

XD, So just because Eva is "making" a game featuring an "Yandere Character" (100% Yan 0% Dere, Not Actually an Yandere but anyways...) He actually thinks he owns the whole yandere character type, and not only that the whole "High School" setting.

Is his head really that far up is own ass?
Oh sorry that was a stupid question...

Imagine if I made a game about a bald assassin in a suit who uses disguises to avoid being identified and travels across the globe assassinating his targets

Actually you kinda have done that, it's called Mission Mode, and it's also one of the Easter Eggs.

and I named it "Gunman". It would be called a rip-off! I'd be sued! But, that's not what I've done.

Sure sure, just because you copied a whole part of Hitman and called it Mission Mode. Hmm sounds eerily similar to Escalation Mode. And yes actually you should be Sued, not only for that, but other s̶t̶o̶l̶e̶n̶ "placeholder" assets in your "Dev Build" which I might add is making you quite a few shekels a month.

I used the same control scheme and the same basic concept (kill in a public setting while avoiding suspicion), but I always try to differentiate my game from Hitman at every possible opportunity.

What? By completely ripping off a portion of the game, and also making the protagonist looking Agent 47? Oh and you also ripped of the control scheme

I want to make a game that is similar to a pre-existing game

No you just want to rip off ideas because your a lazy cunt, or you're too stupid to think up of new ideas.

I want to make my own unique game.

I'm sorry but fetish games aren't unique.

Oh and unless you actually release your game in the near future (Not a shitty "Dev Sandbox"), you're actually going to be the one ripping off another game.

I've been reading this thread since it was less than 100 pages long, I think. I'm happy to see one of the other Yandere games doing so well, even if it isn't the Kiwi Yandere project, whatever it was called. Can you imagine the chimpout if Eva lost his patreon money to Yandere School?

Meanwhile, the main sub is openly asking Alex about his fetishes.

Also, I could have gone my whole life without learning what "NTR" means.

> When Daddydev copies things
"That's inspiration!"
> When others do the same
"It's a complete rip-off!"

So far, Yandere school looks like what YanSim should have been: a simple game about a yandere girl, killing her targets. Not this pervert, edgy shit, which is to big and complicated for him to ever finish alone.
If he would truely work alone and actually show some integrity I might admire him, but as it is? There is no underlying motive in his oh so serious game, which makes it imho not serious but instead extremely childish. A true Indy dev should strike to say something about the world or the human condition by giving the player tools at hand to explore the underlying thought. But there is nothing beyond Yandere Simulators facade, only garbage. Silly simple games are fine, but they don't try to pretend to be serious then.

What I find the most baffeling is, that so many fans agree with him; they don't measure the game for it's own merit, but instead try to be friends with their beloved dev.

Also, isn't there a saing, that copying ist the most honest form of flattering?

fuckin' savage

Somehow, I have a feeling that he's about to waste more of his time making another video about Yandere School, just like the Twitch saga.

A big problem with Eva is that he's an unfocused indie dev (I'm using the term "Dev" loosely) trying to put as many side features on his game as a AAA would have, and even worse: he's trying to do that while his base game isn't even finished. Indie games usually have a simpler and more focused premisse. While "yandere girl wants to date her Senpai, but so do other girls, so she has to get rid of them" isn't really that complex, he's not putting effort into it. He's focusing on trivial things and not on the core features. Yeah, he could add the stupid things he wants later considering the amount of money he's making, it wouldn't be a problem , like the mission mode and easter eggs, but first he'd have to finish the base game. He's adding the side things (and some of them he's claimed are not going to be in the final game) with the "oh, I'm just doing this because I need some fun once in a while, not because I don't feel like finishing my game" excuse. He sounds like a child in every Reddid post where someone asks a question about the game or makes a suggestion, like he thinks he's just playing pretend with his fans, saying "oh, this would happen, then this would, and also this would be pretty cool to happen" and never delivering anything he promisses. Basically he thinks being a game developer is just a game itself and is not taking his job seriously.

I'll not be surprised if he does so and once again not focusing on actually putting effort into the game. Sure, getting your game ripped off sucks, but the best way is not giving it so much attention.

For those who follow his progress, did he do any development progress for the game this month so far?

That's why making the game's development public was a stupid idea. He adds those stupid things, so people won't get bored with the game. It's a waste of development time.

Nah, the only thing he achieved this year was that Twitch replied to him.

Let's face it, he's not an indie dev, 90% of the things in the game are either ripped off from somewhere, or are made by other people.

It's amazing to see just how much his fans blindly follow him.

Just some Easter eggs and a bunch of 'bug fixes'. He was mostly bitching about Twitch.

Alex better not make a video hating on Yandere School, that game has it's own original models, it's not bloated with memes and the gameplay is functional, it has every right to exist and be sucessful.

Alex hadn't make any "progress" for months lol. In this mid january update he added the new group takedown and in feb 10 he copy pasted a bunch of sakura trees and bushes everywhere to make the school look less empty. That was all.

He complains about being "ripped off", yet he can't even resist stealing a grass texture. He complains about his pedophilic meme game being banned from Twitch, but he will ban a devoted follower from his stream just for innocently shitposting memes. That all reeks of hypocrisy, and it's clear that he thinks he is better than everyone else. Consider the fact that he grew up in a wealthy household (I know that's ironic with my Batman avatar, but bear with me) and was homeschooled with zero meaningful real life human interaction. Basically, what I'm trying to say is he's a lonely spoiled brat with delusions of grandeur. Every single part of his upbringing seems to have contributed to the downright pathetic individual we see in him today. Seems familiar, right? :julay:

Can't remember who, but someone said I should post my rival edits from PULL here. Since I'm too lazy to dig all the links, I will just leave the place where I dump all the edits I make.
I basically tried to improve the anatomy and remove a bit of the fetish fuel of the drawings while still keeping the characterization of the rivals (tho I must admit I did a poor job at Mida's skirt. Kjech's painting style is kinda dificult to imitate)
