We had aviation accidents all during his first term, and during Biden's term, during both terms of Obama, and both terms of Bush Jr. The main difference is now after that first mid-air collision during Trump's term, the news is breathlessly blaming it on Trumps anti-DEI orders, and the NPCs are now hyper-alert for things they would have previously ignored.

Ideally, you'd not have engines catching fire on takeoff; that is likely to be entirely on the airline and a lack of proper maintenance. However, from initial glance, the rest of the incident went exactly as it should: the takeoff was cancelled, and the plane evacuated. No reports of fatalities or major injuries, just a lot of people inconvenienced. Of all all the possible outcomes of an engine failure on takeoff, this is the best.

Had there not been that mid-air collision earlier in the week, probably nobody besides aviation autists would have heard or cared about this aborted takeoff.

It's obvious he doesn't actually want the tariffs at all, at least with Mexico, since both sides of the agreement are obviously empty promises. "Great, we will make sure to help try to stop all the guns pouring into Mexico" (No specifics, also won't do anything). If we're just going to let the tariffs end on both sides because empty promises were made, then why make such a big deal about it to begin with?
