I imagine many of the demands were the same. Trump basically said as much that he had the same issues with Canada as Mexico. So yeah the responces are gonna be similar. Also obligitory:

Im more down for, keep the countries separate, have an EU like situation with actual free trade, end "Canadian" monopolies and favoritism towards China in Canada.

Maybe make immigration open in a Schengen like zone between Canada and the US, but require citizenship- and Im happy.

I want Canada and the US working closer with each other, but still separate countries. I also want an end to monopolies within Canada, and for us to not sell our nation out to China, or for cheap labour from India. On the last part, thats where I think we need more of a push from the US. They seem to care more about the Canadians left behind, the 'deplorables', more than the Laurentian elite do.

Somehow I have a feeling we're going to get a retread of this exact same thing in 30 days when Donnie realizes that the plan is likely to string him along until he stop giving a fuck. Actually doing anything to improve the nation would be way too much work for our political class.

Still, maybe I have 30 days to get my money out of CAD before it totally craters now. Always an upside.

You don't get to toggle patriotism and national pride when it's personally convenient. The Canadians in the government have spent 40 years dismantling any semblance of a Canadian cultural identity and selling the pieces off to foreigners, tut tutting anyone who objected as 'racist'. Now there's nothing left to defend. Do you personally want to starve for the right for Rajesh to bring over his twelve cousins to work low in-come jobs? Because that's modern day Canada.

Ask any of these born-again patriots what they're defending and you know what you'll hear? Fucking nothing. Because there is nothing left. All they can do is appeal to bullshit like "tolerance" and "diversity". And you know why this sucks so much?

Because Canada used to be fucking cool. We were rugged french, anglo and scottish europeans who came to this cold ass place and carved a country out of it. We had a history of being self sufficient. Of being strong and enduring. And of being terrifying when someone tried fucking with us. But all that was born of the culture those settlers made, a culture which has been torn asunder since the mid 20th century.

I would have defended that Canada. I won't defend this one.

The truckers were honking their horns as a message from the hinterlands because the retards in Ottawa had censored actual sentiment and feedback so badly they literally had no idea how pissed off people were.

I am not litigating this again but the same week the convoy fired up, Quebec was trial ballooning extra taxes on unvaccinated people and the panicky retards were talking themselves into more restrictions and punishment.

It was a peasant revolt with no elite support, but it really did pop the Covid bubble and snapped western governments out of it.

Also: Justin could have diffused it with some wink-and-gun charm, meeting people and appearing to take them seriously without changing actual course. He could have flattered them into a mild weekend party and easy dispersal. But no, he had to hide and shit talk them and leave them with no recourse but to make themselves heard.

Which reminds me of this situation we are in. Justin Trudeau is fundamentally bad at the basics of governance. He hides and gossips like a bitch from people he can’t control, like truckers or Trump, and his response always makes things worse.

Can anyone think of a situation he’s actually finessed like a talented politician would? Like, taken a situation where someone disagreed with him and found a mutually beneficial solution where everyone got at least a bit of what they wanted?

I need you to know the only way I can have a reasonable conversation in this thread is to never ever mention the convoy because of how badly it triggers chuds as if it was Vietnam. I managed to not mention it once until a poster quoted me and asked me to present a discussion with no emotional attachment about his emotional attachment to the convoy.

I know real truckers and most of them agree that they drive a weapon on the road. But nope, not a weapon sitting on parliament. That cognitive dissonance makes it impossible to debate with convoy supporters and I have no respect for them as they too are Canadian Niggers. Seethe about it some more.
