Speaking of mister twos, yes I have dad jokes.

I'm very hopeful for the new one. Toyota said it'll be a light weight ICE no hybrid stick shift. Only Toyota or Mazda could pull something like that off in this day and age.

The first gen mister two is so cool so 80s but known for snap over steer. The second absolutely beautiful IMHO. Also yes they rip with boost but the v6 swap is so cool I can't picture how fun it would be with grunt and a good aftermarket.

Still hunting, does anyone know anything about car audio stuff? Wanted to get pops a pair of 6.5 speakers for his car as a thanks for lending it to me for a few days when weather was bad. Say 100 bucks budget. 09 WRX he's an old man the audio isnt bad just gets tinny up top.

Mrs basso was asking about itbs for the sexus those darn aren't cheap. She's not the biggest car geek but it's sweet she picks up terms and ideas and then tries to apply them. She's not wrong itbs make power and sound great. But on a otherwise stock (aside muffler delete) 2 Jay Z kinda a waste imo.

Still need to build a turbo kit for it. Ugh. Even in my garage it's been freezing so aside weekly running through car wash to get salt off we haven't done much fun stuff.

I have zero faith in Toyota for making something cool like that. Toyota killed the Corolla manual and currently have nothing interesting or fun unless you're an urbanite who wants a poser offroading SUV.

I always point people at Crutchfield, which has great selection and service/support. This is the highest-rated (customer ratings, so grain of salt and all that) set of 6.5" speakers they have right now and they're comfortably in your budget.

That's what I've heard as well. Every dude that has horror stories tells me they also drive these as work trucks (they don't own) and idle the shit out of them for hours.
I had issues with with all of these in heavy use (very little idle, heavy machinery + field trucks) applications, even with maintenance. I think a bigger issue if people delete is also how the delete is done. Some retards bypass the code but not all the physical components which can cause... issues.

1) The DEF sensor would go bad and think we trying to fuck with the DEF purity to bypass emissions. Forced limp mode and expensive repair.

2) DPF filter cleaning is unreliable at times, and can lead to a backpressure which will nuke turbos. Which if you got unlucky can grenade an entire engine.

3) DEF drying out and clogging the SCR system is a bitch (I think fixed, but issues in cold areas persist).

4) Hope you or the attending filling your shit (Hello, New Jersey/Oregon) doesn't put a bit of DEF into the diesel or vice versa. Have fun with a new fuel/def system.

5) DEF freezing can nuke your system (I think it's fixed with a heater now).

6) All the fucking urea comes from China on a ship lmao. Environmental friendly my ass.

I put 50,000 miles on my little diesel. ( Duramax 2.8 ) with no DPF/DEF problems. Filled up the DEF at the pumps where I got fuel. DPF alerted me to "Keep driving" exactly once when I spent the day in city traffic. Probably helped that most of my trips were at least 50 miles. I'm sure the DPF does significantly less well in city traffic.
The timing chains suck to get to on that shit. But I'll never forgive the EPA for taking that shit away from us VE mechanical fuel pumps. Piezeo-electric injectors and CR is good but much more expensive and time consuming to fix.

I should have specified I mean for the US market.
Yaris GR doesn't exist and the Corolla GR is overpriced for what you get with dealers still marking them up. The GR86/BRZ is a Subaru. The boxer engine is crap. Toyota is a real snoozefest right now.

What do people think of the Mazda MX5?
I've just ordered one, really wanted a fun drivers car. I already have a stupidly fast car which while it's a rush everytime I drive it I really fancied something I could just chuck about on the lanes.
Every video I can find says they are about as much fun as you can have outside of the bedroom.

It's a pretty fun daily driver and track toy in one package. The recent ND models that I assume you've ordered will work nicely for a small, fairly low-HP car with as much of a fun factor and modification capability as the older Civics.

For a more dedicated racers experience, I find that the Miatas are a great first choosing for anyone looking to get serious into the track day scene; since when I used to go to track, I would see at least five to six running in the beginners category with minimal mods. The more hardcore drivers who go in heavily modified ones are rare to find but very quick on their feet!

That's pretty much what I'm hearing everywhere, it almost seems too good to be true!
I've gone for the Homura in a soft top, the RF adds a bit more weight and as it's going to be purely for enjoyment I don't need it to be overly practical.
I've owned a lot of very nice cars but I think the MX5 will probably improve my driving, it has to be driven, all the time, you can't just rely on power.
At least that's what I'm hoping.

Couple of months before it gets here, in time for summer.

Keep in mind Matt is from LA where a lot of young kids who drive like douches (early 20s) have cars like the C63 and M3/M4 so his perspective is a bit skewed from the rest of the country.
I still listen to his podcast from time to time but both him and Spike's Car Radio have switched to a lifestyle podcast through and through and it's very cringe.

Fantastic choice. When you're looking for a fun daily driver, there really is something to being able to use a fair bit of a car's performance envelope at speeds that won't get you summarily executed by the local constabulary.

Has Toyota fixed their trany/engine implosion issues on the new models yet or is it still "we're working on it"?

First 20 minutes of his most recent podcast is him bitching about Trump and talking about trans rights in the most hamfisted Biff lunkhead kinda way.

They identified the issue a good while back so I would assume it's resolved.

The proposed Honda-Nissan merger may not happen, since Honda wants Nissan to become a subsidiary, but Nissan wants to be treated as equals in this merger. Will the Japanese government allow Honda to just wait for Nissan to go bankrupt before acquiring their assets for cheap? Or will they force it down Honda's throat anyways to ensure that a US, Chinese, or Korean company doesn't merge or snatch Nissan assets?

I was looking into newer diesels and if I do get one I was planning on deleting it. I barely realized that most shops in the states will not delete trucks anymore due to the EPA fines. And I noticed that most of the delete kits are coming from Canada. I feel like I have to know a guy who knows a guy to delete a truck.

Thanks my dude!! Got him some! I should dig around he's wanted a head unit with backup cam. I enjoy doing research for parts and all but I just don't know how car audio works. It's got wires too smart for me.

Great cars. My friend has 4. One LS swap almost 500 whp one MSM (mazda speed) with some work clean one and parts. It's the most raced car in human history. For a reason, it's fun. The newer ones have a lot of punch too. I would love to try out the new RF model. Fun flickable things easy on upkeep. Won't be crazy unless you want them to be.

Mazda even does restoring them and can get ALL the parts from them for the old ones! Mazda is pretty awesome for this.

Yeah there's been a crack down on that stuff even if your state doesn't care the fed says no so shops don't do it. TBH I don't know what all is in a current era delete kit if it's something you could do with some friends and tools or what.
