Something doesn't seem to add up. Maybe there are conservative factions within FBI that long wanted to rid of these people, who spend their work hours posting on reddit and now are sitting with glee that their organization is getting purged.
Of course there are normie conservatives in the ranks. But they've been removed from influence by the prog elements. Hopefully in the military, FBI, and DHS/ICE, the purge at the top and new mandate to do their jobs again will let conservatives come out of hiding and take pride in their jobs again, and the atmosphere will be insufferable for subversives.

The fed is all that most of them know.
They don't understand the private sector. They don't understand that, for the average person, having to work usually means making adjustments or sacrifices to your lifestyle. They don't understand that the comforts, benefits and securities of their jobs are things that millions of Americans simply have to go without.
Most middle/working-class people have family who went government, so they're aware of the contrast between people who deal with layoffs, accountability, performance metrics, and full days, vs. having job, insurance, & pension guaranteed for life, flying to Vegas for "training", logging out at 4:15, etc. At best they're lucky/gracious, but I bet most families view them as utterly detached from reality.

Well...this is it. The US State Department has flown the flag outside its headquarters upside-down, signaling a grave national emergency
The Deep State cries out in "fashism!" as it subverts your nation...

"How do you deal with your family knowing that you're a cocksucker?"
I hope Fedditors moan to their families about how their fake & gay 6hr/day remote gig is oppressive by offering 8 months' pay to never show up. In elitists households where they use terms like "civil service" unironically, they might get sympathy, but anyone working in the real world will find it completely insufferable.

Please nag 50 million normies with how far removed you are from real concerns, and broadcast the plush conditions you enjoy.

I do find all the doom posting to be a bit self revealing. While not glamorous I've made friends with a few clerks I've interacted with. I assure you a skilled clerk doesn't go any hungrier then a skilled tradesman.

I can get being upset if it looks like you wont hit one of the nice break points for the pension in terms of years in. Outside of that though it's an amazing offer. There isn't even anything stopping someone skilled from just going back to a different government agency and resuming their pension.

Anyway, for the feds, point A doesn't apply. In fact it anti-applies as working outside of prescribed hours, even checking mail, is usually forbidden. The other "savings" the company saw was employee retention went skyhigh. Now that might have been COVID related, but employee turn over dropped by over half, and given Feds are lifers its unlikely we'll see that happen. And with the ammount of sick days you get as a Fed point D doesn't matter since if you never take any time your bank maxes out after like 3 years.
During covid, when my dad had to be at home, the only kind of "work" he could do was self-guided training powerpoints and replying to emails. He's also run into the issue of having to use his sick days or lose them, so he'll just decide to have 3 or 4 day weekends in order to use the time off.

They’re fucking idiots, 8 months of guaranteed pay is a great deal. Plenty of time to look for another job.
Meanwhile in the private sector, unemployment only lasts 26 weeks (aka 6 months) in most places, in others its shorter! Someone else in the thread mentioned how familial groups will react to this. And I can just imagine a laid off fed at his next family gathering complaining about Elon and his 8 month severance and his blue collar cousins blood begins to boil as he resists the urge to choke his fed cousin like Homer does to Bart Simpson.

These people are mental toddlers who have finally been told NO for the the VERY first time in their lives.

Update: Five GS's in friends with all plan on taking the 8 months. All five already have letters of intent from contacting jobs that will be starting in October.
Contracting is even more bloated than the Feds. The idea that you can just take a quick 4 year vacation to thumbing your ass at Lockmart Grumman is even more insane than Feds thinking they do anything of value whatsoever.

"removing any evidence of DEI achievements feels like a slap in the face"
First of all, good. Second, DEI achievement is an oxymoron. Third, why would you feel like you've achieved something if you know you were a DEI hire? If anything you'd feel like you were the pity hire (unless you're pants-on-head retarded lol)

I know a number of ex-government employees and current employees, and all of them are welcoming these changes.
The amount of waste in the federal government is astounding. It's been an open secret on the inside for decades. DOGE is lifting the curtain and there are a lot of normies learning about this shit for the first time, but it's literally the tip of the iceberg. If Congressmen and Congresswahman are losing their shit at the 1% being exposed, the level of derangement is going to reach escape velocity when we hit 10%.

Feddit is one small piece. There is a good chance that 4 or 5 in 10 of the regular poosters on r/FedNews are the most incompetent, slack-jawed, braindead federal bureaucrats you could possibly not fire and wouldn't even comprehend how to survive in a private sector job where their precious union protects them, union protections that, through federal government meddling and the enshittification of American life DO NOT FUCKING EXIST OUTSIDE OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ANYMORE!

I hope every last one of them gets booted out on their ass after refusing the 'very generous' buyout offer. You want to bite the fucking hand that feeds you, now you get fucking nothing! Don't let the door hit you on the way out Fedditors!

Enjoy Unemployment, Stalker Child!

Well, there's plenty of jobs picking fruit that have opened up in the US! Construction is also going to be looking for laborers as well. It might not be the dream job where they would get to dunk on the chuds for 30 years and then retire with a pension but it's honest work.

I'd say it would enlighten quite a few of them as well when they're broken down beyond repair by their mid 40s and in constant need of medical care for busted knees and joints.

The funniest thing is none of these people have any experience in the private sector and don't realize what comes after the voluntary separation period. Involuntary separations. That's 1000% coming next and none of them see it coming for whatever reason.
