They were still teaching COBOL in a local college in the late 2000's. So right now the youngest COBOL users are in their mid-to-late-30's. We've got at least 25 years before they're all retired.
I regret not buying more of them when I was younger. My cousin bought two brand new in 2011, and both are still working without issue today. Aside from replacing an alternator, there's been no mechanical problems. He still gets offers for them from random strangers whenever he goes shopping.
