Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

Like I said, they don't make em like they used to.
I know, I really do miss what we had a century ago when cartoons weren't following agendas and quotas. Now everything is scrutinized by people who weren't even born when it came out (I was out of high school when I first saw this BTW).

Not just that but the writing quality, art style and humor are a far cry of what kids get and especially what oldfags like us get . Cartoons today besides maybe Rick and Morty aren't even in conversation of the zeitgeist.

With the death of cable television, multiple streaming services, social media, youtube, and short form content it's hard for anything to really be part of the zeitgeist as the odds of everyone even having access to the same shows is rare now.
The more distressing phenomenon is that people watch absolute shit purely to talk about it (and usually not in the fun way of saying how bad it is). Modern TV is less quality and more either having a large budget and promotion, or causing people to hate/counter watch.

Or worse. People just watch clips on tiktok or youtube, read a synopsis and act like they're fans. Like we have Netflix executives asking writers to dumb down the writing in their shows because that's how bad it has gotten. I feel like we're stuck in this vicious cycle when it comes to entertainment to be honest .

Tourism and its consequences have been a disaster for media. They have greatly increased the life-expectancy of shitty media, but they have destabilized good media, have made it unfulfilling, have subjected human beings to indignities, have led to widespread psychological suffering and have inflicted severe damage on the entertainment industry. The continued growth of tourism will worsen the situation. It will certainly subject human beings to greater indignities and inflict greater damage on the media we enjoy, it will probably lead to greater social disruption and psychological suffering, and it may lead to increased brain rot.

I got some bad news for Ed, Edd, & Eddy fans: it's the latest CN show to become infected with the Funko Pop virus. Apologies for the ultra-gay Funko influencer tags, I can't find a version without 'em.

If I'm being painfully honest here there not THAT bad, I'd put 'em on the same level as Ren and Stimpy's. I give 'em props for giving Ed a chase in the form of Pebble-in-Shoe Ed but they get a thumbs-down for making Sarah POP in general (and it's a Funko Shop exclusive on top that).
