Still doesn't understand Steam Sales exist for the express purpose of actually buying games when they are 50% off. Fucking GTA IV GOTY was like 5 dollars a couple weeks ago because of one, and I snagged all three Arkham games for like 10 dollars on a recent sale.

There's also key seller sites where it's possible to buy games for cheaper than on Steam. And I mean legit ones not P2P ones that can be a bit shady, basically the ones that appear on sites like isthereanydeal.

Someone mentioned Russell Greer in this thread so I lost my morning to falling down his rabbit hole.

So he has no income save unemployment payments from the state and whatever money his parents send him)

He's already begun this retcon, at least for Callah Doody. When Phil was playing with a controller, aim assist was stupid because it kept causing Phil to miss by moving his perfectly placed reticle. Now that Phil plays with mouse and keyboard, mouth-drooling console tryhards only kill him because they have aim assist and pee see gaymer Phil doesn't. So we're now at war with East Asia on aim assist.

The thing is the guy from Blip was right. Phil's commentary was (and is) meandering and random. ALT did a new years stream in which he updated the old Mighty D statistic of Phil's dropping Youtube views he played a longer part of the "Hello Jew" clip. and Phil just randomly started the "Isaac Himmler" voice. Out of nowhere. No build up, just suddenly "This is what happens..." They had scheduled a meeting before this incident and they most likely had confronted Phil with his failure to adhere to ToS but "hello Jew" was the straw that broke the camel's back. Of course THIS particular meaning went right over Phil's head and he just said to himself "It's the trolls fault"

Regarding the full price steam purchases, I think Phillip has two reasons for this.

One: it means he has another tool to beg with: “Now guyz, I just spent (looks at camera to make sure he holds up the correct fingers) FIFTY DAHLLERZ on this game and I have twelve dahllerz in support.”

Two: He’s fucking stupid and impulsive. The schedule and Phil want to play the game, so he picks the easiest route to purchase the game, on steam. Could he use a reseller key site? Sure.
But that’s ADDITIONAL CLICKS YOU DUNCE AND IM A BUSY STREAMER.

100% this. I can't remember the game off the top of my head, but a few years ago he pre-ordered the copy of some game, then when it was close to release, couldn't remember if he actually bought it or not, so he just pre-ordered a second copy. I think he ended up checking *after* buying the second copy for some reason, but it might have been a few days later. While it's possible he refunded one of them off stream, I genuinely believe he's too lazy for that.

I want to say both copies were also special editions, but I might be getting my lore confused with his more recent multi-purchases of Street Fighter
