The answer is... you don't! Throwing every character you have into a pinup collection lowers their value. Especially when they are NOT designed to be eyecandy. It's why I brought up Striker earlier. If it was hard to take him seriously after season 2, then it's pretty much impossible now.

If Viv had to sell goonbait, then she should have exclusively used characters specifically designed to be goonbait (like Loona and Verosika). It wouldn't damage those characters one bit.

On one hand, it's a fictional character so people are overreacting as usual. But on the other hand, this is the audience that Viv built so she has to sleep in the bed that she made. People are going to get upset Viv when you make sexualized merch of a canonical rapist. If you truly don't give a fuck as you say, you wouldn't be making Twitter posts every time someone brings it up. Because it seems like you do very much care.

Eh, at least it’s not Valentino and Angel I guess. But seriously, that is such a shitty design. As if the redness in the show wasn’t bad enough, it’s hard to make out some of the details with all that overlapping red and black. Valentino’s outfit sucks too, it’s just overdesigned garbage. This wouldn't be a problem if they didn't concentrated so hard on making sexy merch and balance it out with more typical valentines stuff like cards, plushies, chocolates, etc. Look what they give you instead; everyone is naked, characters pole dancing, innuendos everywhere and more childish ideas of what being in a adult relationship is, in the words of striker:

Like the ghost fuckers shirts are...interesting they didn't even censor the word fuckers. (and I'm amazed sharkrobot allowed that) but at least they have some flair to them being logo shirts and the glow in the dark gimmick.

But you could litteraly crop the word staff from that image or find someone at a print shop who'll copy the font and embrodier or iron the word onto a black tee shirt from Walmart, and unlike a picture of Salle may or veroskia half naked, the word staff printed on a shirt is so common and vanilla nobody at said shop would care.

Nifty was more of a joke on my end, since even though she's part of the main cast she's definitely not a main character. And Velvette is in her 30s. She's the youngest overlord because she died later than the other overlords. Pretty much, you can chalk it up for "these characters are women" for why they're not in the merch. You get three women compared to five men, and the only reason why they're there is because one has the main character in it, so they have to include that couple. And the other being a fan favorite ship. Alastor and Lucifer shouldn't even be part of this line of merch, but because they're Viv's favorite she included them anyway (plus all those RadioApple shippers can buy both of them).

And now that I think on it, the defense for Valentino from her and the fans are stupid. Saying that people buy merch of villains all the time, so they're being hypocritical towards Viv. Pretty sure that those villains weren't rapists, Viv. Also, pretty sure those villains weren't sexualized either in their merch.

My guess is that his “sexiness” factor is supposed to make him appealing, since she loves having him dressed like that. But like you said, it just doesn’t work. And honestly, I can’t think of any time I’ve seen people lust over and sexuality an abusive pimp. I don’t think I’ve even seen that in those shitty smut novels that women love to drool over. You know, the ones with fae princes or werewolves that’ll threaten to kill you, but you could skate on those abs. Again, it doesn’t help that she swings between wanting him to be used as a serious example of an abuser and “just a silly little sexy guy!!”. I’m remembering that he’s likely named after her dead cat, so that must contribute to her loving him so much. His voice actor is also a nut, but he can barely keep a consistent accent for Val, so who cares what he says?

For people that seen the "Terrifier" series they could of used a refrences from that times Art was actually naked, when he was wearing a women's tits, pussy, and scalp to look like a woman. I think that's because Joker is a multimedia character, so even if people were to take issue with that, there's a multitude of different adaptations of Joker who has other features, with the general conception of Joker being recognized by pop culture as something besides a rapist. Unlike Valentino, who is a pimp, rapist, and that's about it. There's no "cool factor" in proudly associating yourself with Val the same way one could by being Joker, Maleficent, etc.
