Starts off the game getting defeated, shit thrown at you at the first castle, thrown in stocks, forced to do menial peasant shit, wedding where everyone makes fun of him, gets send to prison, sent to hard labor, tricked by very obvious bandits, ambushed by bandits, betrayed again, defeated in battle, sent to prison again, tortured, saved by strong independent woman... forced to help bandits who ass fucked you earlier.. not to mention MUSA

I genuinely don't think they understand why people play games, most people just want to relax and do knight shit, not get shit on. MSQ just isn't fun unless you have a humiliation fetish, it really felt like devs were power tripping.

Representation doesn't matter, especially if it's dog shit and lazy storytelling. The representation options here are half-brother incest, the main character's friend he's known since said friend was at least a kid, and some random whore.

It kind of paints the gays as predatory and disgusting if you think about it for more than thirty seconds, which is typically not the representation one should want. Though if you look at it from another perspective, it's very accurate and accidentally honest.

Nah, in my experience I needed modded KCD to fix half the jank. It’s a good game but by god every mechanic is such a chore and doesn’t work as it tells you. Even the story falls apart in several places, I found the end game entirely underwhelming plot-wise.

I do find it funny that gameplay wise they doubled down on the awful combat system and retarded mechanics like saviour schnapps. I kind of get the idea of making people live with their mistakes instead of just quickloading, otherwise why would you ever go to jail for example. But what did people actually do? Just hoard or craft tons of them and just have a less convenient quick save anyway as well as game autosaves from starting quests and the like. You can't force people to play that way. And then you bring the mechanic back after all the criticism. Boggles the mind. Not to mention how all the slavjank interacts with the save system.
It just gives off this impression of arrogant devs who think they can do no wrong. Sound like a certain someone?
So basically the story can be shoved full of pozz and bad writing and vavra sleeps, but the bad gameplay is inviolate.

The game is extremely overwritten. On multiple playthroughs of KCD1 I would maybe skip dialogue once or twice that I felt was repetitive but I find myself on my first playthrough CONSTANTLY right clicking to get through the dialogue that's full of so much unnecessary detail that isn't helpful to a mission or have anything to do with Henry's journey.

I thought the opening up to trosky was clever, everything up to entering kuttenburg went quite fast and felt more like the original game. Everything becomes tedious from there onwards.
