I don’t see how it violates anything. He isn’t saying it’s illegal for them to have “independent journalism” by blatantly ignoring the legally signed renaming. He’s just saying he won’t give them extra privileges for doing so. Not every journalist outlet gets to attend a executive order signing

I agree with you broadly. The thing is that school districts can not control what parents do with this footage, and can be held liable for the footage being used in the wrong way.

For example, maybe a parent decides to log in and start jerking it to a highschool girl and gets caught. The school faces legal issues there.

What about parents ripping the footage and making it into some sort of viral thing without the permission of the other parents? Now the school is possibly liable for breach of student privacy.

Plenty more examples I could come up with, but I hope you get the point.

What would be a good compromise, I think, is districts install cameras to monitor student and staff behavior and the school has to let any parent, who comes down to the office, view the footage of any class their child is in at any time.

It lends credence to the people who say everything was astroturfed to hell and back. They had to bus supporters to the rallies, pay mumble rappers and pop singers to sing (and sometimes not even that) and they had to import millions of migrants because their current voterbase wasn't going to cut it.
