I'm not sure I agree. When it comes down to something where Rekieta is on one side and Aaron is on the other, they'll pick Nick, but I don't get the impression that anyone really cares about defending Nick outside of that.

Nick lacks the understanding of social cues to understand that he is only being used as a cudgel against Aaron and the people he wants to be his friends don't actually like him.

To be clear, I'm not convinced either way. Those three comments are the only messages I think make it possible since they're quite similar to Nick's own copes. Very similar, actually.
