If you're still interested, try it oit again. It's very different from when it launched, and the story it's much better than 1.0.
I still don't have Lopera, but if I don't get her, it's fine. I'll definitely will get Willow.

From what i understood Iansan can keep chaining plunges as long as she is enhanced state but its only 5s. Her heal is 60% atk every 2.8 seconds, she is not realistically replacing any bennet as a healer+buffer. Her burst costs 70/18s and lasts 12s so she also lacks bennet near 100% uptime but c1 gives energy and c6 increases 3s duration so cons are still mandatory...
Varesa does look like she'll powercreep xiao fairly easily. Her burst increases the high plunge multiplier to 513 at level 9 (xiao high plunge is 375%), her burst does +900% (and counts as plunge??) and the resets do a stronger (>644%) double plunge. She gets a good chunk of atk%+crit dmg from her weapon, passive gives 60% atk after 2 NS burts (more than mavuika), can pick between two god tier sets (40 crit or 100% plunge dmg) and unlike xiao she can use xilonen and reactions. She will definitely rerun with xianyun and her best carry team will probably be bennet/xilonen/xianyun.
(The funniest thing is that she also puts a mask like xiao)
One other curious thing about varesa is that she has thicker legs but her arms are default skinny and Hoyo tried to mask it by covering them so now it looks like she has these tiny baby hands.

the writing was really only "bad" imho in the first few chapter (which also had a lot of exposition to bring people up to speed), then it evened out and improved a lot in later patches. same for character stories apparently (but still haven't done most of them tbh). helps that it's usually not dragging on too long or for the 2.0 story has lot of variety going all over the place.
also for the record pincer maneuver is tedious, and iirc there will be another one in 2.1...

no, it's a new feature. it's not mavuika specific though, it just shows you story quests you haven't done yet. for me it shows mizuki for example cause i've done all the story quests up to this point. it's hilarious to me that hoyo added ads for their own quests in their own game because people refuse to do them. just add a skip button.

I haven't even finished Fontaine though....omg.
I haven't done a good chunk of the story quests since I haven't unlocked them yet and I'm pretty sure I can't actually do Mauvika's even if I wanted to.
It's a minor thing but I kinda hate that they did this.

Haven't played the new update myself, but knowing Hoyo they probably did not add an option to disable that feature either. I still haven't done Cyno's "latest" story quest and wouldn't want to have to look at the notification every time I open the map.

I missed the lantern rite event fully because i've been so dead and then there was a PSN outage for like a whole day and THEN found out the event ended a day earlier than other events for some unholy reason which just completely demotivated me to even play the last few days since.
I'm still pissed. Nothing ever lines up in life even SMALL shit like this lines up so I don't get anything I aim to do done. 2025 so far s even worse of a bust than 2024 in getting anything done.
