The Judge saying "If has has no witnesses and no evidence then it's likely the case would be dismissed."

Is someone telegraphing how this case is going to end?
Reading the order, it sounds like the Judge wants and hopes for the case to settle. This paragraph would be an obvious hint to a reasonable man that you have no case if you have no witnesses and no evidence. Unfortunately, Rusty is not a reasonable man.

The Judge specifically chose $1000, because it was twice of what Rusty was asking for. He's assuming that Rusty was asking for $500, because that is what he can pay. He knows Rusty is IFP. He probably doesn't know that Rusty isn't one bad day away from staying with the Las Vegas mole people, but he knows that paying $1000 would be rough for Rusty. And lets be honest, even if Rusty was willing to pay, he could not pay the $775.75 by March 13. Rusty was hoping for $0 or $275.75. And the Judge probably assumes that Rusty would not want to be held in contempt, so Rusty might be willing to settle the case with prejudice in exchange for the sanctions being satisfied.

Russ would never make that offer though. He is far too stubborn and retarded to make that offer, so I'm sure we'll see Rusty being held in contempt of court towards the end of March.

Who give a shit how the rough it makes the poor little shit feel. He brought the suit. He engaged in bullshit for 4 fucking years. He his dishonestly costing others tens of thousands of dollars because he refuses to do his fuck job a plaintiff, or even as a party to the suit. He can't pay? Though shit.

I think Null should make a reasonable settlement offer. Greer agrees to dismissal with prejudice and pays all of Hardin's fees to date. In return Null will drop any attempt to collect any fees from before Hardin took over the case.

I respectfully disagree but I still love you.

Firstly, Russhole would never accept that. The only settlement he wants is for his thread to be scrubbed from the Farms, and any mentions of his name to be filtered out.

Secondly, if Null shows any sign of being open to a settlement - even if it's a settlement in his favor - it will open the door for myriad lolsuits where each plaintiff is looking for a settlement of their own.

Null and Hardin need to keep being well-oiled and grind Russhole into dust. It's how the Farms will last for the long run.

And that's not a factor the rule even addresses. This isn't like Rule 11 sanctions that are nearly entirely discretionary. The only factor the rule cites is the amount the services reasonably connected to addressing the misconduct are, i.e. quantum meruit.

There's the "unjust" exception but the judge didn't even cite it. There's nothing even remotely resembling a lodestar, which is the way these are supposed to be calculated.

There isn't a section that says "and in the end, if you feel like it, pull some random number out of your ass and tell them that is what they are going to get"

We know he's a bad faith retard, but the Judge doesn't. This isn't even the original Judge from when the case started. As far as he knows, he's just a pro-se retard.

Hell, even Stabbin's latest judge was willing to give him leeway despite Hardin informing him of his long litigious history until Stabbins started harassing his clerks. Judges will give leeway unless you give them a reason to not give any.

I agree, but there's nothing that can be done about it now.

There's no way it was a random number. The Judge picked $1000 for a reason, and it clearly had nothing to do with the number Hardin gave.

I'm torn on the new poll. I don't know that Greer's next move is an actual appeal, I think he's going to try a Motion to Reconsider because he hadn't fully plight-sperged to this judge yet. I'm voting option 1 and counting it as a win if that happens.

He also probably doesn't know how to write up an appeal of sanctions to the 10th (though he'll have to try eventually).

Poll: How many times will Greer be sanctioned before this finally ends?
I think it's possible we're nearing the point where they may mercy kill the suit rather than let the retard continue to accrue sanctions if they don't outright dismiss it as a sanction. In any event, once discovery closes, I don't see how there's enough to survive a motion for summary judgment.

Null isn't interested in settling with Greer, he wants a judge to rule in his favor. It doesn't make any sense to settle with such an evil person.

God, folks need to stop whining about this. This is an excellent ruling. The order 99.9% bitch-slapped Russell. On every point, he lost. It was only the amount of what he owes that was limited - because of IFP AND that this is his first sanction in this case (that's a warning, btw - it will not apply next time).
I disagree with you on one point. After realizing that Greer reads this thread (based on his response to the death of his witness), I want people to doompost more to embolden Greer to publish even more deranged legal content.

I disagree. The judge knows. The judge knows the rules. He's an activist faggot interested in protecting Russ. Be that because he hates.l the farms or some other reason I don't know.

But I do fucking hope that one day a fucking cow decides to tangle with him and his family. And I hope he runs into an equally unjust system. It'll never happen to a judge, but I hope he gets exactly the level of retarded unfairness in life he seems so willing to break court rules to dish out. I hope the car warranty people call him every fucking day. I hope there's always the fucking itch in his back he can't quite reach. I hope his life is filled with thorns in his side that should be easily dealt with but somehow never are.

Fucking faggot court system.

I assumed the amount would be lowered but for the judge to just throw out some low round number uncorrelated to the actual costs borne by the defense is just another sign that the system is wholly unsuited to dealing with ignorant and/or malicious goblin pro se litigants. If the judge doesn't want to drive greer into the fucking ground financially it should end the case or the court should have to pay, instead (wouldn't THAT end the case quickly). If Greer were the defendant, it wouldn't be so bad. But he chose to take this path. And yet he's insulated from the fuckery while the other party has to pay for his incompetence.

My only consolation is that he has ruined his own life from the moment he started having the choice to do so and will continue forever.

What's the lesson here? How is this system forcing Greer to fail upwards meanwhile he is kicking and screaming about the whole process? Is there some sort of agenda at play here or something? A lesson to let legally illiterate retards access the system because every little voice matters? Josh isn't 'losing' exactly, but losing a huge chunk of change in a bad faith lawsuit that amounts to 'he said a mean thing' where the previous judge said fuck off, shitlips. Is this some sort of stupidly circuitous way to label him vexatious or something by drawing out all the willful deceit and belligerence so they never have to deal with this again?
I kind of get the reasoning for the reduction by way of not getting blood from stones and all that, but to reduce it to a fraction of a fraction of what was proven to be pissed into the wind because he refuses to play by the rules and/or litigate his own lawsuit? Bit stumped on that one. But I am also gay, fat and retarded.

Well, he certainly didn't share any of the logic of how he arrived at that magical number, and he very well could have explained how he got from A to C, but he didn't. So all we are left with is conjecture, which is essentially equivalent to pulling it out of one's ass.
