Marvel Cinematic Universe

Disney is obviously lying out of their ass with that 180 million budget. It's probably closer to 250 million, in which case they would need around 600 million to break even. I expect this shit to only make around 400 million, which would make it a 200 million dollar loss.
I did not realize how little captain America films do internationally, no wonder CA3 was an avengers film in all but name and Included spiderman and black panther.

The films projections are dropping like a stone. A month ago people were sure it would make $800 million now we're at "it might make half that. If we're lucky!"

At this point we're better off just going full "new universe" with FF and bringing back Evans and redoing the avengers film in a new universe.

Another problem is that in franchises bad money goes after bad movies. It's why Solo fucking flopped because it had to feel the heat from TLJ reception. Thunderbolt will feel like an even worse movie after this comes out.

And that film isn't going to be good either so it all relies on FF, which from the leaks is the most stereotypical 20s marvel film of them all. "Put a chick in it, make it lame"

You can tell from the thing being CGI and the film being "low budget" well get maybe 10 minutes of action scenes at most.

So apparently the original plot was more with Ross being almost Trump like before they scrapped it and Eli Bradley was going to show up. I have no clue why fucking shit Sabra is in it.

Also Giancarlo Esposito was added in reshoots, which tells me they all had absolutely no idea what to do with the Cap films without Steve. (Nick Fury, Bucky Barnes, and Sharon Carter are right there though. Hell why not also have Zemo back and add Viper as an antagonist? You can still do Serpent Society.)

Also one crew member has openly admitted it was hell to shoot. Harrison Ford was apparently very crotchety, the writers ran like chickens with their heads cut off, and they added some ficticious black lady assistant character who is obviously a DEI hire. Carl Lumbly's plot went nowhere. It really does seem like they did a Hulk sequel disguised as a Cap film. Minus Mark Ruffalo.

Not a very big MCU fan any more but it really feels like this should've been another pseudo-Avengers movie in the vein of Civil War. It's been years and we haven't seen heads or tails of the team, they've been throwing random heroes around left and right. They should've taken one movie to sort shit out heading into Doomsday. Which is only like two movies off. The "global conflict over adamantium" set-up could've made for an event of large enough scale to draw in multiple heroes.

And I'm not sure if this is a hot take or not, but I feel like Red Hulk is one character that should've just stayed in the comics. The whole idea is just too dumb and contrived. It's comic book-y in all the worst ways.

Cap 3 was supposed to be exclusively focused on Cap but fucking annoying ass Robert Downey Jr demanded to be let in so they caved and did Civil War instead, adding the Avengers, Black Panther, and Spiderman. It was a damn mess and not doing Secret Wars and instead having Wanda accidentally blow up a building full of niggers was their Secret Warriors schoolchildren bomb plot instead. (It has my favorite Nat look and her scenes in the beginning are fun)

I'm pretty much only holding out hope for Thunderbolts because I need my Black Widow sequel and I need just stupid dumb fun. (David Harbour and Julia Louis Dreyfus being massive trolls the entire film? Give it to me.) I am intrigued that Johansson is producing it, so clearly there's something more to it that we don't know. I believe Rachel Weisz and Lawrence Fishbourne are supposedly appearing so that'll be fun. Rachel doesn't age. Also (Sentry not included) I like the idea of a team who of the majority don't have *powers* so to speak.

Honestly the strikes pretty much ruined any hope of these films being amazing. But it will be funny when Marvel/Disney blame the darkies for Captain Floperica. Fantastic Four has all miscast actors with the possible exceptions being Vanessa Kirby and Ralph Ineson. It is glaringly obvious that they will end up in the modern MCU world at the end which is retarded. HERBIE being there also is.......a choice.

The teaser is painful. Look at how Thing is. Its as bad as the previous one. Really when you think about it, Michael Chiklis was and is the definitive Thing. He took that character to new heights. This version is so poorly done. Look at how his mouth moves. Its sloppily done. As for Johnny, blonde actors exist, they just chose to stunt cast which is pathetic. Have Sue and Johnny use their natural English accents then. Pedro is also stunt casting. I'm sorry to say his playing straight is not convincing at all but he's in a glass closet so...

I can't tell if it's bots or if aging millennials
people always talk about AGI when it comes to AI, not realizing that 75% of the human population can't pass the benchmark of "general intelligence" either.

Its even worse than you think because a decade ago when Fant4stic came out, literally no one online was using that retarded name unless as a joke. everyone used the proper name "fantastic four" but between indians and boomers all only just learning how to be online in the last decade and zoomers being taught to use people's preferred names and pronouns its obvious only the most compliant are dominant online now.

Harrison Ford was apparently very crotchety
he was forced to do the mo-cap work for hulk, and because of the plane crash he got into Harrison can't even move his arms above his chest anymore and walks like the 80+ year old man he is, i swear someone said he did more stunts in this than the last indy film. like year of course he's crotchety
Red Hulk is one character that should've just stayed in the comics. The whole idea is just too dumb and contrived. It's comic book-y in all the worst ways.
i didn't realize the "hulk family" only started in the mid-2000s, before then it was just Hulk and she-hulk. then they decided to expand the roster because they knew there would be films and tv shows, same with a bunch of other comics in the last 20 years really.

like how batman went from 2 (technically 3) robins and batgirl and alfred and almost exactly 20 years ago suddenly you had 5 robins, 4 batgirls, a dozen knock off batman, a couple catwomen, lucious fox, and a fuck load of other people all part of the "Bat Family" I can't exactly say for sure but comics took a massive nosedive in quality and the last ok years were the early 2000s.

There's a reason they've been a lot more cautious about how they adapt comic book storylines and they'll change stuff like Ms. Marvel's powers if they feel they can't make them work. but now they don't give a fuck and it shows hard. even reddit is trashing this film, and that's very rare for them nowadays. in the last 5 years they've only shit on a handful of blockbuster films, and of those i'd say half of them were sony's spiderman spin-offs. this is getting Madame Webb/Kraven/Morbious level mockery.

the MCU has released 24 tvshows and movies in the last 5 years and of those only maybe a half dozen have been well received. you had the exact opposite ratio for the 24 films they released in the 2010s. Its times like these that you have to wonder if it was even worth making any more films, imagine if they just stopped after Endgame. It reminds me of how huge Star Wars became after the OT and makes me wonder if it would have stayed good if George kept shitting out a new film every 3rd year.

Another big thing to point out is that the MCU deliberately took 2024 off outside of deadpool 3 and 3 tv shows they very quietly released so they could regroup and go back to making good shit again, if you've looked at the 2025 release calendar, apparently they didn't learn jack shit. Ironheart is DOA and we all know they're going to fuck up daredevil, thunderbolts feels as Paint-by-numbers as this does, and Fantastic four is only getting slight optimistic enthusiasm
s because I need my Black Widow sequel
after the lawsuit ScarJo is more likely to appear in BLACKED than a Black Widow sequel, Miss Flo is the new black widow. Thunderbolts is going to get the backblast of this film's shitty reception, the stupid song they used doesn't bode well for that film's "antics" either.
but fucking annoying ass Robert Downey Jr demanded to be let in
i don't believe that for a fucking second, RDJ was their most popular actor in all of the MCU and they needed him more than he needed them, he gets paid way too much for him to demand to be a part of any film without cause. Chapek's son is also listed as a producer, so its more likely that this is a project that got all the contracts filled right before covid and that's why Scarjo, Chapek, and others got an exec producer credit on this movie which was probably a Black Widow sequel at some point and then turned into this.

the film itself looks fucking stupid, Sentry ruins the whole concept, it should have been a dumb McGuffin plot, like stealing some comic book material from a comic book country, like have them steal Vibranium from Wakanda.

Sentry in general is a great idea wasted on being forced into comics, if it was a genuine one-shot and marvel wasn't allowed to bring him back it would be the greatest story of the modern marvel era. its what i always use for why Manga is better than comics. every new concept isn't chained to these huge franchises forever where no one ever dies or ages.

So apparently the original plot was more with Ross being almost Trump
I could have told you that from the teaser trailer.

I am convinced the reshoots/rewrites have less to do with market testing and more to do with the everchanging political climate necessitating changes to the slopaganda. Oh shit Israel went mask off and the golems are turning? Better downplay Sabra. Oh shit Trump won? Better adjust the tone of the Orange Red Man Bad angle from smug mockery to concerned polemic. Et cetera. I'm sure more was cut than we'll ever know, for reasons we'll never know.

I'll be interested to see how much of the deep-state Winter Soldier element got gutted now that all eyes are on USAID, if they even had time to react.

One of the things I heard about Captain Blackmerica is that Japan is posited as a geopolitical rival to the US (not China). So shameless. Also, I believe we're going to see a lot more sludge that was shoved out the door where the political text (not subtext, but just plain obvious text and in many cases strident super-text) was conceived by people who thought Biden, then Harris was going to win.

I can't help but roll my eyes at the spoilers I've read for this clunker of a movie.

It's Japan that's got the USA by the balls ... lmao, anything to not call out your China overlords, right Disney?

lol fuck Hollywood.
If they needed to pick a Chinese state without it being China, it should have been Taiwan or Singapore. TSCM built a super Jarvis!

Hell, they could have just used Madripoor ffs.

I stopped paying close attention to the comic side of things whenever Black Captain America and Lady Thor were actually introduced, but I heard that they recently made up a country to replace Vietnam for The Punishers backstory so that instead of fighting in sandboxes they could keep him in the jungle in stories.

They can make fake Singapore and fake Vietnam, but can't make a fake China I guess.

i assume china wouldnt allow a film where fake china is the adversary to be shown in their cinemas

and any asiatic enemy will probably just be assumed to be china by them

Wikipedo really trying to smooth over the film's reception, saying it has gotten "mixed reviews" and highlighting journos who brought up comparisons to Trump.
The Hollywood Reporter invoked that the scene where Ross transformed into Red Hulk and caused havoc across Washington DC seemed like a fantasy of real-world US president Donald Trump; IndieWire wrote in agreement with the MAGA parallel between Ross and Trump both being gruff old men elevated to office based on the promise of facilitating unity based on dealing with an "alien" threat.
Rolling Stone's David Fear joked that Ross was "somehow still only the second-most destructive, rage-filled commander in chief to ever hold office", and Entertainment Weekly writer Maureen Lee Lenker joked that "the most unbelievable part is a U.S. president with empathy, a sense of responsibility for his actions, and a capacity for change".

Some of them are still coping with the film's inevitable failure.

So watched Captain America 4 “Niggos Revenge”

It wasn’t good, but wasn’t like total shit. It’s just not a captain America movie and wasn’t fun.

First of all, Nig man (who I just noticed is cross eyed) doesn’t wear the suit for most of the movie, so he’s just a guy doing punches. More than a few people. He also keeps using knifes and broken shards of glass.

Second, cuz he didn’t get the “serum” aka didn’t take his Vax, he doesn’t get to do crazy stunts. Again not a marvel movie. More like a TV show.

Third, only 2 women in the whole move, one was a tiny ugly Jewish woman who’s supposed to be a “Widow”. Thought they were supposed to look sexy. The other was no personality, no hair, no tits NigWoman who needs to look after old ass Harrison ford. Honestly she doesn’t talk much so it’s just like her looking confused.

Forth, Harrison ford is too old to make movies, but honestly he did a pretty good Biden impression for most of it.

Fifth, the action was ok in that it didn’t make me sick with 3Dzog vision. But the ordering of it all was very strange, with all the trailer footage being from the last 30 minutes of the film.

Lastly, the end credits scene was fucking NOTHING. Just bad guy in the same set as before saying “things will change in the future lmao”. Awful, they got nothing planned after this.

Oh and I missed the first 30 mins due to having to take a client call.
