every now and again I read something like that the snaps me out of our current time and place and I just see how the people of 1775 would respond to the British passing that as a law against them
You almost get the feeling we are only pretending we have some of the freedoms we claim to be so proud of and you just start to wonder, if that's the case how long has it been like that and even with all the good things happening now, can we ever get them back?

This includes threatening the life of a visiting dignitary invited by the White House. And blocking the road. And harassing counter-protesters that DID get a permit. I predict we won't be seeing fiery but mostly peaceful protests any more.
