I think the problem is the whole modern left isn't ideological - they're entirely dogmatic. If they were just ideologically socialist they'd be fine, but nothing about intersectionality is internally consistent, it's simply programming delivered from on high.

I remember back when I was first studying the ideological underpinnings of different parts of the left, different parts of the Dems would chafe against one another for wildly different reasons, but when you look closer, the reasons why those delineations come out and make total sense, but they won't to anyone who doesn't take a closer look and breaks down why they are that way.
Even back then, the Democrats were basically insane. The idea that you need a rebel wing of your party to explain why you shouldn't bankrupt America in the 1990s, or today how the rebels are the people explaining why you shouldn't support child rapists, is astounding.

Yup. USAID is likely the big one. I've never seen so many politicians freak the fuck out as much as they have from the moment USAID was targeted. I've never seen congresscritters show up in person to yell at people locking staff out of a federal building. I've never seen judges throwing out orders and injunctions saying "you can't fire your own people/you can't withhold funds you're empowered to direct" while providing literally zero explanation, basis of law, or anything in the orders.

To be fair ever since the Democrats have been known as the "liberal" party their moderates have a habit of usually being beaten out by the more radical members given enough time.
