I'm curious what the future will look like for the Democratic party because they will most certainly lose the next election. Surely they will lose funding from their elites because they can't produce results. Will they split off into a new party? Rebrand into something else?
Edit: people rating me optimistic, I get it but the Dems are tripling down on identity politics. It would have to be retardation on an unfound scale for them to win.
Democrats are basically split in 3 directions, probably more, but in general, I would say 3.
On one hand, you have the old guard. These are Dems that are either late Millennial to Boomer. They cling to legacy media to make sense of anything as they are basically still living in the 2000s when John Stewart and SNL were "smart people" comedy. They will fight to bring in the next Black Jesus as they refuse to move past Obama even though they constantly talk shit at the Republicans for being afraid of change. This is the Dems primary demographic, though it is a dwindling one as it only applies to old folks. They cannot grow support from this base anymore.
Then you have the woke left. The wokes are useful idiots as they will always vote Dem, but they are absolutely dangerous in terms of biting the hand that feeds. Dems need to get rid of them as they are never satisfied and will continue to fight the party to go further left, often getting violent (including with other Dems).
Finally, you have the non-woke Bernie Bros. This 3rd camp probably hardly exists now given Trump has gifted them wins, but still a faction. Personally, I think Bernie and the more Progressives were the obvious answer to where the Dems head, but the party f'd them at every turn so they are no longer an option. Such a waste as they had Tulsi and RFK at one point yet threw them under, hell even 2016 Bernie wasn't that bad.
In terms of winning, only camp 3 really has a chance. It is likely an inevitability that some progressive will make it and do a Trump style take-over of the party now that they are extremely weakened. Really, the Dems just need a big man to turn up the same way Trump did, and they would be able to regain ground, only issue is that the party has been shown to kill off any opposition to the Clinton/Obama regime, so it will likely be awhile.
As for where Dems will head in 2028, bets are on them shuffling Mark Cuban out to be their "Trump" and have him sell healthcare. I doubt it will work as the party will clearly still have its tentacles wrapped around him, but I guess we wait and see.
