Avowed - Obsidian's new game, like Pillars of Eternity meets Elder Scrolls

I still firmly believe Deadfire was a great game and should have sold more.
A game full of niggers:lol: Besides that like all CRPGs it's more a book than a game, text wall after text wall.
Looks like a comfy game to pirate in 1-2 years when optimized and with possible DLC, I'm not really feeling it right now.
Same thing I thought about KCD II actually.
Comfy? Hates Whites, hates men, faggot shit, niggers, bossy girls, yeah sounds super comfy.

I see here the same apologist behavior like I did in the BG3, Kingdom Cum, ..., threads. We are never going back to have good non-woke games because even the "anti-woke" crowd can't stop playing, jerking off to, woke games. To me it's a mystery how you can be White (a male) and non stop consume anti-White (anti-male) trash, even spending hours making excuses for it, but that's just me. Our race had a good run, I guess it's indeed over. I'm kinda surprised that there are still guys here who have a tolerance for niggers, mine is zero, I would be happy to never have to see one again in my live, same goes for muslims and pajeets.

How they go from fnv to this. I think even outer worlds let you kill npc.
More than that, there is a legitimate, story-cannon playthrough where you murder everyone because the serum that the Dr gave you turns you into a psychopath - which is why he hides behind glass.

There's even a skill tree within the skill trees that focus solely on you going it alone while murdering everyone, and i mean literally everyone, that you come across. You don't need one single line of dialogue, just turn up, gun everyone down, loot, move to the next planet/station.

It's a lot of fun and a little glimpse that Obsidian was still alive in there somewhere. OW on the surface was woke slop, but play it like a chud maniac and it's nostalgic Catharism.

Real question, was Obsidian ever that good?

Alpha Protocol, KOTOR 2, and Never Winter Night's 2 and it's expansions (especially Mask of the Betrayer) and NV were good games even with Obsidians jank.

I have mixed feelings on Pillars 1 and 2. Some interesting stuff but also a lot of boring shit, which is a feat in of itself because the 2nd is basically a pirate RPG.

OW was forgettable slop. I have not played tyranny or pentament

Tyranny has cool ideas but at the end of the day it doesn't really get interesting until the game is about to end. Pentiment isn't really an RPG persay, it has some choose your own adventure elements when it comes to picking your background at the start but it's more of a VN. A very very good VN that I recommend most people who like Obsidians best games play at that.

i never thought i'd see a day where modern crpgs fail to outdo fucking skyrim

Tyranny was such a wet fart. I fail to remember anything other than the stupid woke shit and the thing you do at the end of the game being against the game's actual premise, which they patched into an option later when they realized how fucking stupid it was.

Vermintide 2, though not an RPG, is a good exemple for better FPS melee and range combats, UI and readability while still fairly simple to learn.
VT2 is the best integration of fast paced melee/ranged switching in any game period, Darktide wishes it had a tenth of the soul the ratclickers have.

Highly recommending both, Pentiment specifically. It's the diametric opposite of Outer Worlds, while OW was designed to be as marketable and inoffensive as possible to slap the "from the makers of NEW VEGAS! We are making OUR OWN GAME NOW!" sticker, Pentiment is completely sincere, it's a story Josh Sawyer wanted to write for himself above all. It's not meant to appeal to everyone but if it clicks for you, it's incredible.
Tyranny was a test drive for Deadfire and it's better than both Pillars games by accident, except near the ending it falls apart.

In the middle ages infant mortality was as high as 80% I know this is a fantasy game and not analogous to the real world but like most fantasy games it takes heavy inspiration from medieval Europe where having too many babies would never be a thought anyone would have.

tbh birth and death is integral to peo as it is known that reincarnation as a system is real and controllable to some extent. first game was all about kids borning without soul because a cult collects all weak souls with ancient machines to feed a goddess to make it stronger.
and i love first game. at least it tried to further the concept to extreme.
classes were well developed (why and how magic exists, what are cyphers, how chanters can make magic with music etc by the soul system) and the quests were also well created ( my society has a cultural thing where you found the reincarnation of a person the village loved the most and tell them how is life after their death, oh i hypnotised every woman to believe their kids were healthy and not deadborn, one of the mothers died because of overcaring for a soulless puppet etc...). It is ashame that they fell into the abortion trap. In the universe you can literally remove soul from a body and put it inside an item, or something else. ( a solution for the soulless babies was using animancy to remove animal souls and put them to babies, it did not work as animal soul, which can come from a human essance, was different in quality and quantity so the kids could have never develop as human.) They could do so much, they did worse.

That's actually cool conceptually.

Why write actually good lore and then not use it at all?

Because Awoved writers did not wrote it. they are just leeching on it.
Doesn't Avowed explicitly take place in the same universe as POE though?

I'm confused why you would write background lore for a setting and then just ignore said lore and make up new less interesting lore.

The only reason I can think of why you'd do this is that the old lore wasn't considered woke enough for le current year.

What's most bizarre is that nonwhites don't contribute artistically or culturally (amongst any other aspect obviously) so I don't really get why so many people keep idolizing these monkey creatures.

all 3 games (poe1-2 and awoved) made by same studio. most of the writers of the first game were in the second game as well, but as far as i know, awoved had none of them.
even if they are in the game, they are just killing the setting.
