When it comes to media, it's often said that "Going to space" is the final breath of a dying franchise; often after it already jumped the shark. While I doubt Phil will every be physically launched into space; but being a UFO investigator, can we go ahead and say this is the "Going to space" Arc for DSP? Because where else do we go from here?

Man, the kino casino shtick is turning into some kind of psychological experiment. Is DSP's narcissism and social ineptitude really strong enough to counter this absurd amount of clowning? Does he still think they genuinely like him?

I wouldn't say it's just narcissicim, socially inept, and autism; but there's a healthy dose of wanting to belong. Just a hunch, but I wouldn't be surprised if Phil is legitimately lonely/empty on the inside; all the gay for John Rambo jokes aside, Phil hasn't had a friend like that since he burned that bridge, due to his ineptitude and other behavioral problems.

He got a cute little girl to bounce around with him; not entirely sure on what to do with it and doesn't fill that gap. He got an older mature mom-wife; she has her own problems and I'm sure there's other stuff, but dead bedroom roommate status. He gets a cat to maybe try and fill the void that might be the desire of parenting; can't even clean up properly or bloodwork and other things for his adopted son. He's a mess of mental and behavioral problems and doesn't know or want to fix it; he's telling himself he's doing everything right (job, woman, child) but something inside is telling him it's not right.

Actual 'real' friends might be a good take on it. I was leaning 'putting up with them for more dentbux' but that would be giving Phil too much credit.

The 'they are just razzing' might actually be a real nugget of truth from the Pig. Going to space is kind of an obsolete marker of a dying franchise, nowadays you know a franchise went to the dogs if they start doing alternate universe/multiverse shit.
