Nexpo/YT Horror Channels - Do they all suck

How would you feel if you hadn't eaten breakfast this morning?
I'm not hungry. I'm just jetlagged as fucked after spending 12 hours flying in economy class and am currently waiting for everyone else to wake up. Anyway, my final point/summary on the topic is that there is a very niche community built around very small games. The reason why I don't consider *most* of these games youtuber games is because they were made for this community and then picked up later by youtubers. So for example the devs of Iron Lung and Buckshot Roulette are both pretty established in that community and one of their games just happen to pop off on youtube. Poppy Playtime is pretty explicitly a youtuber game from the start because the dev started as a Minecraft slop farm and are checking all the boxes (mascot horror, pointlessly obscure lore they tried to sell, referencing youtubers by having jacksepticeye cameo and having Markiplier's birthday mentioned, early release to streamers and youtubers) in short, Mob knows their target audience.

It is annoying how overhyped games get by youtubers, but most of those games are genuinely really good or fun and it is good that that youtube can grow an audience for that game and make money for the dev.

You've both defended Sitting in a room performing a menial task and being afraid of a JPEG. Then immediately went on to fumble two different IQ checks.

There may be lead in the gruel.

I don't give a damn about a dumb fish game that is probably best enjoyed by reading the Wikipedia summary, but arguing over whether a game is a YouTube game or not is some "ask cashier if the movie is reddit or not" type faggotry.

Blameitonjorge uploaded an hour long "iceberg video" that opens with him explaining he's only covering the entries he finds interesting, which feels against the spirit of an iceberg video but whatever.

New Shrouded Hand:

Man, I had no idea he was dealing with cancer. Wish him all the best.
Shit man... Why do the people who seemingly don't deserve cancer end up getting it? Why not just have it be a thing only degenerate pieces of shit get. I think the only time I heard someone getting then dying of cancer who deserved it in recent years was Douglas Sphinx or whatever his name is, the zoosadist.
Feel free to give me more examples of horrible people dying from cancer though, always brightens my day to be reminded of karma.

Hope he recovers, man. He's an OG and I've been a fan for so long.

I was disappointed that the whole iceberg wasn't covered, but this one was actually really interesting, to me at least, actually made me stop what I was doing and sit and attentively watch it.

Some really incredible and bizarre real places I leaned about.

It depends on the iceberg, some add in too much fluff to the entries that its more fruitful to cut the chaff and focus on the interesting bits or else you get overly bloated 2 hour videos where people waste two or three minutes on "oh yeah this has little information and i dunno what it is". Sometimes its a fail on the video makers part for not researching right but not always

All iceberg videos are some guy reading Wikipedia pages in a monotone voice, and the things they talk about have already been covered by other people. They're for niggercattle.

Mhm. These people read like how you expect a high schooler to read off their history report that they most likely plagiarized in front of the classroom. Barely do I see any iceberg videos where the dude (or woman, very rarely) actually has a personality beyond monotonously reading through every entry. You only sound like a bot, not a professional voice over. I love iceberg videos where the creator puts in their personal input (that goes beyond "oh man this is so bad i mean wow man i cant believe this wow") and give more insight to the thing they're covering, showing they care more about the iceberg other than to fulfill a lousy trend.

Let's not also forget they're wholly unoriginal. If I have to see "most DISTURBING..." as a title one more time man...

Here's a guy who covers unusual ancient artifacts and long forgotten ancient civilizations icebergs. He's actually worth listening to and made me learn a lot more about ancient history (as someone who's really into learning about such things). He has a personality beyond reading Wikipedia pages and gives a lot of his personal insights on things, making a lot of his entries last way longer than just a few seconds. Best of all, he does his God darn research. I definitely recommend giving him a listen.

Dire Trip made a video on the Madison School Shooting
I'm watching it right now.
Edit: Finished it. Not really any new information and I would have liked for him to directly mention who both Nitrrogen and Solomon Henderson were but it's still a very good rundown, but he did mention the possible 764 connection and Rupnow's converstions with Paffendorf, so it's an ok video

I don't think I've seen an iceberg video where that's happened. You're better off pirating a good documentary about a single event or topic rather than wading through the trash on YouTube for videos with that kind of effort.

Unfortunately true. At least for me, it just took lots of wading through junk to find a shining nickel to throw at someone or something to find an iceberg that was actually worth my time. But a lot of the time, I am much better off just watching a pirated documentary instead.

Are there any good talking heads doing videos on horror games? There's lots of interesting horror games that aren't in a style I'd enjoy playing but I'd like to know more. A deep dive into the history of the Granny series would be fascinating.

Dungeon Chill is a fantastic channel that covers old horror and point and click games. Definitely check him out.

What, this?

Yes, this does look like it deserves a two-hour video about its history.
It's a 15 game series full of weird lore and loads of strange fan games on the side. The games themselves aren't anything special and are not something I would play. But the community around them is interesting and I would like to know more. Yume Nikki is the same thing where it has a huge community making fangames based on it but outside of their small niche no one knows much. I like documentaries on weird internet communities and games.

Already watch but thank you for the suggestion.
